hi all, not sure if i'm posting in the right forum or not, but here it goes, there is someone i am desperately trying to contact, have been to many fortune tellers (big step for me because i am rather sceptical) but none of them could tell me anything that really related to the person or categorically proved to me either way that there is something out there after life, any thoughts on how i could find out one way or the other??? I don't want to go into too much detail on here, but if you knew my reasons and how desperate i was then this message would probably make a lot more sense.

Not quite sure what you define as "fortune tellers". The normal way is to see a good qualified, and competent "medium". But there is no guarantee that contact will be made. Various reasons are thought of such as the contacted person is not ready to make the link etc.
A spiritual church should be able to help, or put you into contact with a good medium.
Be patient.

Agree with the above, try the Spiritualist church, they should be able to refer you to a competent medium who may be able to help you. I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

If you are looking for proof their spirit lives on, then what further proof do you need than your memories of them? Their essence is in your mind.
You may or may not find this helpful. I suspect not because you've been waiting so long!
Get a picture of them and put a bunch of flowers in front of it and see what happens.

I'm afraid that some of the "fortune tellers" at fairs are less than what's expected although there are still many who are very gifted. 3 years does seem a long time to be waiting. It is possible to get a contact through from afar. Some of the members here appear quite gifted so hopefully one can offer you some help. If someone is willing to help you, you may have to give a name to focus the contact. It is sad the pain that we can go through sometimes. When contacts are made, I have only seen the love that is there. Hopefully it will happen for you.

I was a sceptic and it took things to happen to me to make believe there is a lot more out there than I can explain and only when it started happening to me I started questioning my belief system
So normally your mind will explain away anything and you have to be open to the possibility and question why do you want to change your belief system
Its like people who are dying or in grief of losing some one I would love them to see the things I have seen and do or some how transfer what I do to them but I cant, or go there with them mostly, so I send them love and walk on
And another thing I am not about to try and prove what I do to any one for its just going to happen or not and if I try to prove my abilities for some one its normally when it wont work
I hope you find the proof better still I hope find proof in your own experiences

Sadly there is no-one who can do what you're asking. I understand why you want, what you want - been there, done that, my answer came in a different way to what I had hoped...
Your friend may know of your anxiety - if you were as close as it appears from your letter, (s)he almost certainly will know.
But (s)he is not simply able to pick up a spiritual telephone to contact you - no more than anyone 'over here' can pick up a phone to reach her/him.
A medium somewhere, sometime might be used to bring you two together if all the conditions are suitable both on the other side as well as this. No guarantees that however many you try that there'll be success.
Forget psychic fayres (sic) and the like. Mostly the practitioners there will be psychics. Psychism and mediumship are not the same - you need a medium.
In the meantime you might want to consider looking into the situation of survival in general. Spiritualist churches and centres are good places to start although I read that you're not near one. Psychic News is a weekly newspaper (newsagents and also on subscription) and there is a wonderful library where you can buy books.
I realise that this is not what you're looking for but there are more ways of skinning a cat than one.:) Some reading and study, maybe an occasional, special visit to your nearest church will set your mind at ease, even though you won't get the definitive answer you're seeking.

The whole term `fortune telling` is not what you require. All of us here can give you assistance, help advice and guidance. However with you being desperate and mentioning that your sceptic, will make the connection harder.
Its obvious that you are still going through and experiencing upset, strife and hurt becaue of what has occured. Our emotions when unsettled and when we are going through strife, can often confuse, energy that is `already` around meaning things can get confusing because of being on an emotional roller coaster.
And with the two questions you have
Why?
Well I know personally its not to do with `why are you happy` more of Why did you do it.
This is a deep personal area for you, and perhaps those here will respect that, and pm you privatly about the matter:)

Itharial, thank you for your advice and understanding. I never used to believe that there was anything out there, just reckoned once ya were gone that was it, but when this person left my life i started to wonder if there was anything out there, and i went to several different people, all would tell me something that made me want to see someone else and so i went on a trail of "fortune tellers/mediums" to be honest i don't know who these people were or what their backgrouds were, i just know i spent an awful lot of money, and was left with more and more questions each time, it was very frustrating. I do believe with all my heart that if there was something after life then this person would contact me, as they had read alot of books on the subject before they passed away (which is how i got reading them, i found them all over my house)
Pepper, make peace with your self, breath and become calm.
I empathise with what you have personally endured and gone through, and I understand that being left with a multitude of questions does not trully help.
However have you looked at this may be a learning curve for you, a door way for you to walk through so you can begin to believe and have faith in what can not be seen or felt physically. I feel strongly that your close bond in assisting you on this journey, telling you (rather loudly) to trust and to believe in your self. As this is where the journey starts, healing self, trusting self as well as forgiving self.
After all thats where all the answers are `within us` people will come upon your path as guides, some will stay, others wont, this is complety ok and natural. Perhaps in time you will begin to recognise the syncronicities taking place in and around your life, and the door to loving your slf completly wil open further.

Pepper, I just wanted to share something... when my uncle was dying many years ago, my mother asked him, if he could come back, would he come to visit her and tell her what it was like after death? He said he would but she never heard any message from him....
but years later, she was talking about him to my aunt (her sister) and my aunt said, a few days after he had died, she had had a beautiful, vivid dream where they were running through a field towards one another, they met and embraced and he said to her 'You must come and see this, it's wonderful, don't be afraid it's fantastic, you must come and see this....' then she woke up, feeling quite shaken by the experience!
So my mum beleives that was him coming back to let them know he is still there and all is ok. The answers do not always come when or where we are looking for them. Have patience and as Jill says, trust your self.
Hello Pepper, George is so right the answers and the things we want never happen when we want them to, when we have so much invested and we feel desperate, it's when we let it go that you may very well indeed get a sign from your friend.
I am going to totally contradict myself now and say that he/she may already be trying to make contact in some way, but when there is sceptasism (spell?) and fear present it will be hard for you to notice, this is also true of when we are busy running around trying to 'make' something happen, our minds are so busy chattering away that we miss the subtle signs and the quiet whispers of spirit.
If you PM the name of this person I will try to contact them for you, but I can't make any promises, I would never do that, I get who I get, I have no control over that.
