I was preparing tea this evening when I was overpowered by a beautiful, strong perfume. It was very familiar and comforting. The vapour seemed to envelope itself all around me and as I moved around the kitchen it moved with me. I felt very easy with this presence and I cried a couple of tears at one point. It came back to me later this evening as I walked on a piece of artwork I am doing. It is my birthday today. I wondered has anyone got any ideas.

Wonderful to have you join us! Thank you for sharing this story...I found it very moving. Have you never had such a presence of this type before? It's just that you called the perfume familiar and comforting. Is it associated with one of your loved ones who have passed over at all?? This is sometimes how they let us know they are still around us. If that isn't an obvious answer then perhaps it's a Spirit Guide or Guardian Angel. There is often an overwhelming feeling of comfort and emotion which can reduce one to tears. I had the same thing a few weeks ago when I was washing up of all things and felt a few tears welling up. I felt as if Loving Wings/arms were enfolded around me from behind.[sm=FIFangel.gif]

I suspect that it was spirit come to say 'hello' as it is such a special day for you, you say it was faimilar & comforting which suggests it may have been someone that was close to you, enjoy the experience knowing that you are loved

It is probably my mum or gran. When mum died, I often used to smell magolia for a week or so after her death. But this smell was different to that, I think it was Chanel No 5 which she did occasionally wear. She only used to wear it for special occasions. I think my nan might have worn it too but I cannot be 100% sure on that. I was dreaming weirdly last night too, kind of like a journey back through past events in my life. The presence did feel female. Thank-you all for your help, it confirms that she, they both are around helping me at the moment and good things are happening.
