Hello Everyone.

I got a water ionizer as a gift, but i don't totally understand the benefits of drinking that water over regular or even mineral water.

anyone has an idea?

Thanks!

At the risk of being shot down in flames, I'm going to say that there is no empirical evidence to show any benefits whatsoever. The claims made by manufacturers and suppliers are based on bad science which any 'A' level chemistry student could disprove.

My apologies to the kind person who bought it for you :dft001:

Agree Derek, I am not convinced with the science with ionized water.

With regards to bottled water in plastics being "bad" I have someone as a client who did polymer chemistry (lovely lady) who tells me again it is bad science that they leech plastics as she said it would have to take a very, very high temp before the plastics would degrade.

I guess everyone has their "bag" tho' :037: :D:

I'm not convinced either that ionised water has health benefits. Just another health fad.

It's the minerals in water that gives it taste.

As for plastic bottled water, I always thought that it was the bottle exposed to the intensity of strong sunlight that leeches chemicals from the plastic. Can anyone prove that either way??

I think that maybe they STILL don't have scientific prove for that, but it does make sense... i read a lot about it, i did not get one yet but i'm thinking of buying one.

Sorry, but it does not make any sense whatsoever!

If something is supposed to have a physiological effect, then that effect should be measurable. This is not in the same league as scientifically proving the reality of chi or God or homeopathy........... This is plain, simple, GCSE chemistry!

Please don't waste your money.

I am not a scientist, but i do know some people who are and are saying that it is good. i'm not sure about it of course but i think that it can't hurt me. even if it will not make me healthier, there is no risk in trying.
don't you think?

Thank you!
i don't know if i believe in it or not but i still have to keep it 🙁
i got it as a gift from my mother in law, so no way i can get rid of it, might as well just try it.
My wife is lithuanian so i got one from there, it is something they produce over there, the company is called burbuliukas.

I also think it is a little bit dodgy... but well, you can never know.
a lot of things that are very common today were "dodgy" a few years ago.
