Hi

I am currently on a Reiki 1 course (local adult ed one, over several weeks) which I am enjoying.
Meditation is a large part of my course, participating in regular, daily meditation and mindfulness....whilst performing energy exercises...

I was wondering how often other Reiki practioners practice meditation... is it an integral part of your Reiki?

I can feel how meditation works, it is tangible, but, I still find it hard to understand the whole energy thing.

Its an open question really, I'm just interested in what others think...

Thanks
Cate

Well... meditation isn't an integral part of Reiki itself, though I know many who practice Reiki also do some sort of meditation, even if it's just group guided meditations when they meet up for Reiki shares etc. I personally do meditation as a practice and always like to include some Reiki self healing at the end of the session once I come out of meditation.

I can feel how meditation works, it is tangible, but, I still find it hard to understand the whole energy thing.

That's fine... many people either take it on faith, or carry on studying energy healing in more depth to gain an understanding... it's something that takes time in my experience.

If you've any specific questions, just ask and I'm sure you'll get a multitude of various responses. 😀

All Love and Reiki Hugs

Hi Cate,

Stick at what feels right for you - and you will understand at the right time. It took me some time to work it all out.

Hi Cat .

Meditation eventually becomes a way of life . Practice as often as you can . Meditation allows self to the fore if you are not being yourself in the first instance . One cannot know if they are being themselves unless they see a reflection of that .

Meditation will eventually allow one to know one .

In regards to meditation and reiki or any healing practice the meditation will create a mindful state where one can home in or tune in to a place where there is a lesser degree of noise / disharmony .

Find this place of peace whilst healing and the energy connection will be stronger / clearer and such likes .

Thank you for the replies..

Maybe I need to separate the two, treat them as individual practices that compliment each other.

Its like learning another language really, I have my own personal vocabulary for how I feel, but talking with others about it is another matter...I've so much to learn 😮 guess I'm in the right place!

I went in for an hour long Reiki treatment. I didn't know what to expect. As Christine worked on me, I fell into deep relaxation. I felt warm twinges in my stomach as Christine was working near my head. She worked on my entire body front and back as I was in a pleasant meditative state of mind. At the end, I felt totally at peace. I could feel the blood running through each part of my body. I went home and took a long nap. Now even days after my treatment I feel much more focused-- my nervous energy got transformed into productive energy and my body and state of mind feel much more balanced. This was a great experience!dyer meditation
