Hi guys, I'm praying someone out there can help me. I usually live overseas and have someone that I see for reiki if I need it. I have recently been working in mental health in the uk, and have come into contact with a really heavy client. Consequently my energy system is overwhelmed, as if i've picked something up. I'm trying to find a really really skilled energy healer in the london area, who has a lot of experience and skill with these type of things. I know this isn't the answer you want to hear... William Lee Rand has a great kit that you can purchase from amazon. There are step by step instructions on how to Reiki yourself. There are also other authors available to teach you to do this. The source is available to all who seek. You can learn to access the source directly to do self healing. His kit will just open the door. Walk through and wonderful things await your discovery.
He also has a directory you can check for practitioners in your area. Eric Pearl also has an online directory for energy healers in reconective healing.

I was mainly thinking about Reiki as I've not tried it before but have always felt drawn to it since my teens (am 30 now lol). I've had a spiritual cleansing ritual performed by a gypsy fortune teller, however, I feel like Reiki would be of a more wholesome treatment and possibly a better fit for purpose.
I would sincerely love to practice Reiki on myself, just feel like I need a totally clean slate to work from. My main reason for seeking external assistance is just to clear the build up of negative energy/stress accumulated from the past. Additionally, I'm a psychology grad and feel like the initial post resonates with me due to a similar exposure in my immediate environment.
Very grateful for all your suggestions as they're not something I would have otherwise considered and are very much worth exploring.

Well in that case ...I haven't had any famous teachers or major book writers haha but I have learned from a young man called Chris Leverett. He has grown up with Celtic shamanism. From there I have learned from Anthea, I don't know her surname. My reiki master is also a shaman. She unofficially taught me much of what I know. Her name is Evelyn Brodie. I also learned a lot about power/spirit animals from Laura Daligan.
I guess in between I've taken their teachings and followed my intuition. Listened to my guides and the teachings I've gained through journeying and communing with nature. I've got much to learn but I guess we all do!
