Hello,

Congrats on doing your Reiki Two. It sounds like you entered into a very relaxed state and had what is called an "Out of Body Experience" caused possibly by the energy you were channelling.

Is this the first time you have ever expereinced anything like that? Sometimes Reiki attunements can boost your awareness , leading to heightened sensitivity to "psychic" phenomena. Sometimes it doesn't.....it would be a dull world if we were all the same.

I agree with Pete, it does sound like an out of body experience otherwise know as OBE or even Astral Projection. When you think about it, as you used all three symbols together, you would if you like have been channelling all three major modes of energy together and the HSZSN which can mean All time is Now or No Past, No Future, No Present, can bring a kind of state of oneness, a connection with all, and in sharing that connection, in becoming part of the all, you left your physical body behind.

I have a freind who started to have these OBE's, however I have not known anyone have them in circumstances like you had. On the other hand as Pete says, all the influx of energy could have lifted your vibrational frequency so high, it allowed you to come out of your body.

One of my students, receiving distant Reiju from me once for her level 1 Reiki, felt herself levitating, including the chair she was sitting on for it!

Perhaps, you were already some way along your spiritual pathway, and this has kind of accelerated the process even further and even faster!

Sounds amazing anyway!

Hiya,

I'v had experience of feeling like I was levitating - I put it down to forgetting to take my shoes off when doing the treatment. My "client" told me afterwards that she had felt as if I was levitating. On another occasion my "client" seemed to be levitating to me and on discussion, it seems that she had felt the same at the same point in the treatment.

Hi Ambermoon.

Actually, now you mention it, I remember when I gave a freind a treatment and he said it felt just like he was floating, he could not feel the couch beneath him, and just felt so peaceful like all his troubles and aches and pains had just left his body.

Perhaps it is more common than we realise!

I have never had this experience before or since, I shall let you know if it happens again. However, has anyone had the feeling of hands touching their body, that was really unsettling but now I would like to feel it again so that I could explain more fully. My teacher said that she felt hands after having her reiki 2 and said she saw the second symbol on her window. Has anyone else had experuences like this?

I've not had the experience of hands touching my body when giving Reiki to myself BUT when I was giving Reiki to a friend the other week she did! I'd started at her head and when my hands moved downwards she said there were still hands at her head. If I remember right, they stayed for the whole session - we both just accepted and appreciated the help! I've only done Reiki 1 so far and most of my experience has been with my dogs so it was good to get some feedback on what was being experienced.

Hi Hopeful2,

It is not unusual for people receiving Reiki to feel other pairs of hands upon them during treatment.

It could be that your - or their - Guardian Angel or Spirit Helpers are aiding the treatment.

If it is not unusual for them, it might not be unusual for you when giving yourself a treatment.

This, just like levitation and OBE as mentioned above in your first posting, is one of the many wonders of Reiki. Do not be afraid, do not worry and just relax and enjoy the experiences.

Hi all,
The floating thing - I can confirm it's not so unusual! I have a friend who feels like she's floating when she gets treatments and also a few weeks back after a really traumatic experience I gave my partner Reiki with his head in my lap on a pillow. The pillow actually felt lighter as I did his temples and he felt like he was levitating at that same time.

I had a fairly scary experience with my Reiki 1 but now I just add it to all the wonderful 'freaky' experiences I've had. No 2 treatments are the same for me and I just love all these signs that Reiki is so good and powerful.

Thanks to everyone. I guess I just freaked out a but as it was not something I had expected or heard about. The more I read the threads the more I will appreciate and maybe understand the different experiences I may come across. I shall have to get back to it as I have put it all on hold as I was a bit concerned.
