Hi everyone,

I was surfing the net last night, looking for a wonder cure that might safe me from spectacularly failing my upcoming exam.
What I found was something called "esthetician exam secrets study guide" published by morrison media LLC from the US.
I wonder if anyone has actually used this guide or has heard anything about it?

Hello Lucy and welcome to HealthyPages 🙂

If you find something interesting on the internet, it's helpful if while you're there you can copy the web address and post a link here, so others can see what you've found, and discuss.

Good luck with your exam!

Hi Lucy,

Although I have no knowledge of the method you are enquiring after, I do know that [link= http://www.emofree.com/splash/video_popup.asp ]EFT [/link]is GREAT for all manner of fears, phobias and assorted worrying thoughts. Try the link if you are not familliar with it and download the free manual. you need only read pages 22 - 39 for what it is and how to do it. Get tapping and loose your nerves!

Love and energy,

John.

Thank you, John!
Btw, this is the link to the american product [link= http://www.mo-media.com/esthetician/ ]http://www.mo-media.com/esthetician/[/link]
If the guide is as good as their advertising skills, I should be set for life - but I thought I better check with you guys first 😉

Best,
-Lucy

Having had a quick look at this, I can understand your reservations about posting it! 😀 Thanks for the link anyway.

RE: Could this be real?

Hello again Lucy,

I just hopped over to the link you provided and baulked immediately. I have a tennet that says "If the webpage looks like a roll of toilet paper don't be surprised if they are selling ****!"

I also have no idea what an "esthetician" is so perhaps I should look it up:-)

John. X

RE: Could this be real?

Ok, my curiosity got the better of me and I downloaded the manual from Morrison Media I mentioned earlier.

If you have checked out the link and read the stream of self-glorification, do know that this was the best part of it.

One thing the authors claimed which is absolutely true is, the manual is phrased in everyday English and I was able to comprehend every bit of the 106 pages.
No wonder, since the bulk of it consisted of little more than a brief roundup of your basic training - half A & P, half aesthetics.
The rest is a mix of study guide (Get enough sleep! Study when you are most alert! Practise, practise, practise!) and some "secret keys" to doing well during an exam (Watch the time! Use common sense! Look for clues!).

Good things first.
As far as I could see, the authors mostlygot their facts right.
This manual is not completely useless, it is clearly structured and touches on every area that you might be questioned about.
If you just started your classes or if you re-entered your class after a long break, you will find it useful for a quick revision or as a checking list of relevant topics.
If the textbooks you have been using so far are very scientific in their explanations, too deep, too complex, too loaded with facts, and you are longing for an easy read before bedtime, this will do nicely.
(If you want to put together your own notebook, you can use this manual as a 'skeleton' and 'fatten it up' with your own material.)
And of all the little tips and trick mentioned, while none of them original or enlightening, some of you might find one or two helpful.
Most of it is really just common sense, but we all know that this is the first thing that flies out of the window once you start to get the shakes 🙂 So, it is good to remind yourself of that when your nerves start to get the better of you.

The downside.
I doubt anyone who reads this manual with their hopes high for something that will guide them safely through their exam will say "Hey, this is exactly what I neededto know!"
If your exam is just a few months away, you should already be familiar with everything in this manual (and if you are not, if this is really big news for you - boy, you are in trouble!:)).
While the manual offers a few guidelines on how to navigate yourself through the written exam, it offers no help at all in how to survive the practical examand facing the examiner.

Bottomline - the $29.95 are probably better invested in the new CD of your favorite band - or some nice mats and saucers for your trolley setup to impress on your exam day 😉

On the positive side - you have paid out some fifteen quid to learn not to use this kind of site again. Oh, and there are many of them! I also paid out for some "bonus" information and techniques to "boost" my EFT practise, only to be delivered with a rehashing of what is available in the public domain. Annoying, but a lesson learned, not to be repeated. [color="#cc6666"]Remember my tenet!

Love and energy, John.
