my friend suffers, and i mean suffers, from rosacea; she hates the redness which errupts for no apparent reason and nothign the gp had proscribed has ever helped...she's just shelled out a fortune of face products imported from america which have made it far worse...she says that she finds if embarrassing to be thought to have acne or sunburn - especially in winter...to be honest, i've met her many times when she's been 'bad' and she feels worse than it looks ...but anyone had any break throughs with it

Hi,

A couple of years ago i spent a small fortune on laser treatment etc, thinking i had acne, (previously suffered from bad putbreaks). I eventually tried vitamin B6, this seemed to work for me, i've always believed these problems come from within. You didn't mention what your friend was prescribed from her GP though. I'm sure you'll get some good advice on here though. Good luck

I always thought that GPs would only prescribe Metrogel. At least that's what mine told me. It didn't work for me though. I know that Supersub said his wife's cleared up with - I believe - this and antibiotics. If he doesn't spot this, maybe you could pm him to ask him. Actually if you got the mods to change the title of this thread to something to do with Rosacea then you might get more replies. Also if you do a search you'll probably come up with some old threads in which it was discussed. Mine isn't too bad so I don't worry about it any more but people do sometimes comment on it so I can understand your friend wanting to get rid of it, especially if she's younger than me.

Can I point you in the direction of a dedicated Rosacea forum?

There are many different types of rosacea, and they will all respond differently depending on the underlying causes. I personally had steroid rosacea, for example, caused by overuse of steroid cream that a dermatologist prescribed for severe facial eczema. That was a few yrs ago now and my skin has mostly recovered, but I still have some underlying redness and probably always will. I used to be a member of the forum I mentioned and tried many different things from there, but once I discovered Reiki and started healing myself, not only did my skin start to improve (prob due to calming down my stress levels about it, which were pretty high), but I also started to care less and just get on with life regardless. Cleaning up my diet was a massive factor in improving my condition too.

Rosacea solution

Hi Amanda, Just saw your comment about your friend having rosacea, I just would like to say that I have suffered with Rosacea since 2001 and have tried everything. eg. vitamins, antibiotics, all sort of creams and nothing have handled the condition, but finally in march this year I have found a clinic in London called Pulse Light Clinic and I have to say, my rosacea is gone after 5 treatments, and I have no words to describe my gratefull to the nurse who treated me. Have a look they website

t
They do a sort of light treatments for Rosacea called intense pulsed light and the results are unbelivable.

Hope you find them 🙂

I think rosacea is triggered by what you do regularly including diet. I also have this irritation and I just eat healthy fruits and if possible don't stay under the sun for a period of time.

I learn this from this page
