Hi Bruno,
Thanks for your comments but I'm not a life coach!
I'm a Yoga teacher and Reiki Healer. I also have a Virtual Assistant company, but for this it is exactly that, virtual so no clients come to the house and administration is all done via the internet.
I have placed an add and given my street name but not door number, I feel this is a safe bet. That way they can review.
Thanks!
Jo
If you're a life coach working from home, I would include your address especially on google places. You want people to leave google reviews so potential clients can read how effective your life coaching method is. If you don't include an address clients won't be able to leave reviews on google.
I would also create separation between personal and professional life. I would not appreciate it if I had to listen to distracting sounds during my life coaching session. Consider scheduling sessions when nobody else is home.
I have a home office. I provide my clients with a quiet, and safe environment to share their thoughts, and emotions with me, even though this is life coaching and not therapy. So I believe it is important for life coaches to provide a safe and quiet environment for clients.
Fortunately, I live in a condominium highrise. We have common rooms we can take advantage of. So I conduct all consultations in the boardroom. Its safe for me and safe for the client.
If I were you I would look into creating a website as soon as possible as this really boosts business. I am a massage therapist and most of my work comes through my website. I had mine made for me but I know there are easy to use sites out there that let you create a website that is customized to what you want and doesn't cost the earth.
Thanks for the advice and I really know I should just at the moment unfortuatenly I have other priorities that my money needs to go on :(.

I have my office and signboards, a website, local newspaper ads for advertising. I used to attend them at my office and only in case of emergency, I have to visit them at their residence. It is however better practice to call them to attend your office and if they are unable to come for any reason then visit them at their house.

Hi
You need to place ads on notice boards, detailing what you do and direct visitors on how they can access your home. You can also include your business numbers on cards and fliers , this way, it would be very easy to direct your clients. Have a nice day
I think it would be safer not to meet clients on their homes. Times are difficult and we cannot tell who is who. Better to know them or meet them over a restaurant or a coffee shop perhaps.

It's a nice thought Amy, but not really practical if you are trying to run a business. I treat more than half my client base in their own homes - it would not be practical to meet them first to gauge whether I should treat them or not.
Maybe one can also do a little check on who he/she will meet on their homes. 🙂 - steven barbarich
I have my full address on my website and flyers and have never had a problem, following much of the advice you've already had above.
"Dodgy" people are fairly easy to spot, they tend to ask lots of questions that seem to go in a certain direction, and certainly telling them there are no appointments for a few days will tell you if they're genuine.
When I first started working from home (massage therapy), I used to tell male clients that my husband would be home at the time of the appointment, even if it wasn't true. We did have nice neighbours at the time, too so I'm sure they would have helped if something had kicked off!
Good luck with it! Silke
Hi,
I wanted to speak with people that worked from home. Do you advertise your home address? I haven't so far, just stated the area but I think it could help. Do you have any rules or tips for meeting new clients at your home or at their home, sorry if I'm being parnoid! And has anyone experienced issues with advertising their home address?
Thanks,
Jo
I've advertised my home address before on internet, we kept getting people randomly turn up at the front door wanting to see our product range. It got me thinking that advertising the presence of reasonably valuable goods at the address was not a good idea. So we're starting to use a PO box instead.

Or ensure that your website clearly states "Correspondance Address (not open to the public)"
😉
You could also try , "by appointment only" (unless you don't want anyone round at all).
working from home is best advice..
You say it! I very much agree with your point of view!I hope to be able to see your published posts.
