Exactly Pauline! On the guide it says that an A4 size envelope under 100g is now going to cost 44p!!!!!! What a rip off!!![:@] I'm going to start folding everything up and put stuff intp smaller envelopes!!

I send alot of parcels, I got hit hard this week by it-what usually costs me 37p to send, now costs 1.09p to send-thats a ridiculous rise! not a happy chappy[:@]

It now goes by the size and weight ratherthan just the weight, because the parcels have to be sorted manually, heavier to carry by the posties to your dooretc-more work than just envelopes. I sell teddy bears their light but bulky-so ive come alot worse off!

It truly gives me the PIP - prices in proportion they call it.

Seriously,estimates are that it will cost where I work at least an extra £130 a month and there's nothing we can do abou it. There is no other company who can distribute along the lines of Royal Mail. Grrrrhhhhh.

What a miserable lot! Don't you think you might be all taking for granted that Royal mail succesfully processes and delivers the vast majority of post from one end of the country to the other overnight (while you lot are still in bed) for less than a bar of choc? It costs more to process and deliver bulky items and Royal Mail is now a commercial operation. Did anyone compalin about the commercialisation of this excellent public service.
Before whinging about this, or any other service, think of the native american saying "walk a mile in their moccasins" and lighten up!

I agree with you. The cost of posting a letter or parcel by Royal Mail is far cheaper and cost-effective than employing a courier company. Most (if not all) courier companies will not entertain single letter deliveries, whereas the Royal Mail will.

I disagree that the Royal Mail should not have been privatised. It was the best thing that ever happened to it because it's become more commercially competitive in an ever-changing world. We can see the benefits in the service we receive.

I remember when i used to get my mail first thing on a morning........now it usually doesn't arrrive untill noon!! Whats up with that!

I also don't really mind price increases too much, as everything has to increase to keep up with the changing economy, but why do they have to make it so confusing to work out?!?!
As i said earlier, i send out loads of mail on a daily basis and i am finding that i have to keep referring to that hand out to find out what size/weight = which price.
Royal mail: Please just add a few pence onto the price of sending stuff instead of sending us faffy size/weight guides!!![:@]

Ahhhhhhhh. And breathe! My rant over i can now go back to being my usual happy self.
