........to freeze and kill the smelly bacteria. I saw this on the telly, and tried it on my smelly MBTs. And it works.

Put them in overnight, in a plastic bag. It's probably a good idea to let them thaw before you put them on.

Fragrantly yours,
Sharonx

Yes I think the plastic bag idea is a definite must.
I'm gonna have to ask to see in everyone's freezer now before I go and eat at somebody's house. [:'(]

Smelly trainer tip.

I heard that a sprinkle of bicarbonated soda does the trick too; it also softens hard skin on your feet, but mind not to use too much, maybe a dessert spoonful.

Love & Peace

And if you're using Bicarb of Soda remember not to go out in the rain cos your feet'll start to fizz!

This is a great tip! Maybe we now need a 'Top Tips' thread! (not an A-Z though - LOL).

Guess where my trainers are?:D

Yes Giles I will have to agree with you there 😉 [:'(] 😀

I use bicarbonated soda in both shoes and fridge and it works a treat...

It is also great for cleaning spilled milk our of your car. Gets rid of the smell...

...and the aromatherapist's method. A few drops of lemongrass, citronella or something similar on some cotton wool balls in the trainers overnight.

Saves on freezer space and much more fragrant.

That is what I do now with my sporty trainers, but can't do it with the walking ones... they are too big and bulky and have got leather insets... 😮

I'm not sorry that I don't need to know how to clean spilt milk out of my car.
Amber - I guess you're a mum?:D

I put a shake of lavender oil on a piece of kitchen paper in the kitchen litter bin, it's amazing how potent it is over a day or two. And for good measure, try Harpic anti-scale loo cleaner for your bathroom tiles etc - cheap stuff, and it all comes up sparkling:eek:

Far more wear and tear on you trainers this way, and you have to wait a couple of days to dry them out - unless you tumble dry them - then they get even more knocks.

BV - I'm off to get some Harpic.
