Yes in Glastonbury, im trying to step back on the path i fell off not so long back, kind of outward journey to reflect the bigger inward journey, and to look at things from a different perspective. tough at the mo, but something keeps telling me its the most fundamental move i will make in life and that aint bad.:D

can appreciate your situation, having beein in the new house, new area.
best answer I found? get down the local pub, have a few bevvies, sing a bit of karaoke and ride the beer scooter home.
then order nice big indian takeaway (seeing as most are still open due to religious purposes not forcing them to close) to satisfy the xmas belly.

Yes, we really are blessed - I truly said the same thing to a neighbor of mine on Christmas Eve. I'm single and had no where to go and nothing to do on Christmas Eve. He stopped down to chat because he said he felt sorry for me and I said no, I was so lucky to be free and able to be at a computer, free to say what I wish to say, talk to whom I wished to talk to, have warmth and food - he looked sort of blown away, but I said, "just think about it for a minute...".
I'm rambling, sorry. isn't being thankful for what we do have, rather than griping and whining about what we don't have, much more pleasant!?
