Forum
hate this new forum layout, I have tried to like it but now the addition of two private forums at the top of the page seem to make me a second class member. Why not make them private, ie not on view if you can't access them?
I can't find anything, the colours are so faint on some screens they are hard to read.
Where are the pm's now situated please?
The traffic seems to have died, so few posts in each area, unless of course it is all now happening in the private areas?
So so sad, I loved this forum, it was a life saver for me and my spine, now there is no support, No-one seems to visit or post and everyone I speak to complains and feels so sad to have lost HP
Hello @amy green ,
Yes we hope that in changing the colours, this will result in easier reading!
As for Private Messages or PMs, these were never converted into profile posts. Profile posts are meant to be, and have always been visible to the public, or your followers (depending on your privacy settings). Under “Settings > Privacy” you have the option to change who can actually view your profile posts. For example, you can change it to “Members Only” rather than “All Visitors”. Anyone who posts a message on your profile page, it will display publicly, this includes your responses to them. Again a comparison of this is like posting a status on Facebook, and people then commenting on it.
For messages which are not public, and are therefore intended to be private, this should be done through “Conversations”. I have sent you a message through “Conversations” which is private and will not be shown on your profile page. If I had posted on your profile, then this WOULD be public!
Hopefully this is clearer and clarifies the subject for you! If you do have any other questions or comments, just let us know!
Thanks
Thanks for explaining. So I was right to deduce that some members had posted me private messages in the wrong section then, i.e. under profile posts (instead of in the conversations category) since this is not private. I didn't realise this until EnergyIz' post and have now deleted their PMs to safeguard anyone else reading their confidential content.
Good news about the forthcoming colour change then!
You had me worried there for a minute Amy. I went and checked my Conversations and Profile Posts just to see, but thankfully my PM's are all still private and the only thing in my Profile posts are those things that really were made as profile posts, which I've always known to be public.
I suspect those Profile posts in your profile, like you say, were posted there by people thinking they were having a private conversation with you, but not realising that it was essentially public, I know I've had a handful of people post things to me on there which I felt weren't really for public consumption so I deleted those upon reading them. Fortunately, most people on here are honest people who wouldn't divulge anything about other members outside of the forums if they've seen it on here. As you've now deleted those posts, no public members can see them any more.
Hi folks, just to add to this, I have glaucoma and subsequent problems, every thing needs to be larger and clearer...please

Hi Jeannie, you know that you should be able to make everything larger by scrolling your mouse wheel to zoom? Or in your settings you can change the page layout to be bigger and also choose your own fonts
Good Afternoon Everyone!
Just to let you all know that the Healthypages team have been busy tweaking the site! We do appreciate your comments which were made about the colours and fonts being difficult to read, therefore we have made changes accordingly. The shades of colour are now much stronger throughout the forums, with the washed out purple and blue shades being made more vivid.
We have now added a "Conversations" tab to the forum sub menu, and increased the size of the font on this menu. On the forums main page, we have also made title fonts bolder, so they should be clearer and easier to read.
Another change you will notice is to the pagination on threads, making these stand out more like a button, rather than just text.
Please note that you may need to refresh your browser a few times or clear your browser cache in order to see the latest changes correctly.
We hope that these changes, albeit small ones, make all the difference and improve your overall experience with the forums!
Thanks,
Daniel!
To add to Daniels comments... if you aren't seeing the changes and want to hard-refresh the page then, certainly in Internet Explorer, you can hold down CTRL and press F5, which will force a refresh for the cached page you're on.
Thank-you to all at HP!!
I love the Conversations button and The Profile Posts button that is a new one on me and it is quite nice to nose through other people's profile posts so easily now oops lol, did I give away a character flaw there?
Hello!
Just to note another tweak which has been made for users!
To ensure you don't miss out on anything, you will now see conversations and notifications are showing in the forum sub menu. So if you receive a message or have a new notification, a small icon and number will display!
Thanks,
Daniel
Goodness me, what is going on? sub menus, Ctrl and F5, cached page, browser cache, was it all necessary and when do
the training courses begin!
Your web browser will cach/save various aspects of webpages and its styling in your web browser, so to see the latest changes that have been made you will likely need to refresh the web page, see the attached screenshot, on your web browser you will see a similar "refresh" icon to this
