Hi everyone,
I am in the process of organising a village "yarden party". One stall that we are going to do is one where you pull on a string a win the bottle at the end of it.
However, I am not quite sure how to set this up, am worried the string will all end up in one big knot! Can anyone advise me on this?
I would also be interested in other ways of fundraising.
Thanks
Sarah
RE: Bottle on a string stall
just thinking about this... how about if you loosely tie the strings in a bundle hanging above the table, with the bottles right below so you can't tell which is attached to which string, and the string ends tied around the table edges on hooks or a wire or something? Then when someone pulls the string, it should move through the gathered bundle and tug on a bottle.
As for other ideas... people always like cheap games of chance, like a tombola, roll the 10-penny, throw a horseshoe/wellie, etc. Face-painting for kiddies is a nice little earner too.

How about a kid's paddling pool with rubber ducks on it and you have to fish a duck out of the water with a rod and loop attached to it. That goes down well with kids - as long as an adult is standing by to check they don't fall in.

RE: Bottle on a string stall
we went to a school fete where they tied a large ball on a thin chain or rope and you had to swing the ball to knock down the skittles - they took down the highest score and then had a adult and children category and asked them to come back at 4.00 to do a knock off.
My husband and I were the only ones to get top score so we ended going up against each other! I won! we then donated the £5.00 prize money back to the school fund!
It was a good game though
Hope it helps

PEG on the LINE you have a washing line with about forty clothes pegs on it, you then get a person to remove the pegs using only one hand, take down the score and the winner is the person who removes the most pegs using only one hand 10 p per go, this sets up compitition for all.....
