I like to leave my door open inside the house and to stop them closing I have some hard door stops. We sometime hit our toes on these things so I thought I would get some soft ones filled with beans. The price of these things are astonomical for some cloth and a few beans, so I have decided to make my own.
Can anyone tell me the type of beans I would need to buy to put inside?
RE: Bean Bag query
you have various options
1) use traditional bean bag refill - [link= http://www.bean-bag.co.uk/ ]http://www.bean-bag.co.uk/[/link]
2) use rice
3) use shredded paper
good luck
RE: Bean Bag query
start with rice, upgrade to gravel, then eventually put rocks in them. you'll have shaolin monk toes by the end of it!:D

It is amazing how after years of putting up with something i.e. the ever closing doors, we suddenly realised if we took off the rising butts and put standard hinges on the doors, the problem would be solved. So thank you Andrew also.
RE: Bean Bag query
Most of us suffer from saggy butts, I thought.

Why don't yo pop to your local farm stores and ask for a big bag of wheat. I use this to make lavender heat back for christmas pressies. The wheat is solid enough to keep doors open and soft enough for your tootsies.
The bags of wheat cost about a fiver and makes dozens of bags (depending on the size of them.)
