My first thought, Dip, on reading your post was also 'luck has nothing to do with it'. You've obviously done your homework, you've prepared as much as you can, the rest is down to 'what will be'. Hello Peeps!

I DID IT!!!

I would like to share my experience with you all. As some of you may know, I did my first Reiki level One Retreat Weekend with people I had never met before. I have been "teaching" Reiki for a few years, but it has always been on a personal, one to one or small referred group of people, people I have a slight connection with, or know through friends etc. This was the first time I had no relationships or connection with my students.
I had an extremely diverse bunch! People from all walks of life, from different life paths, various ages.

Before I arrived, I was saying to myself that I realised I may find it unusual to "teach" those older than myself, as in the Indian culture the "elder" is the wiser one, and culturally, this has been instilled within me somewhere. However, I was indeed the youngest in the room! This was a great thing to "get over", and it made me realise that although with age comes greater life experience, this does not necessarily equate to life awareness.

I was able to impart my own personal Reiki journey, my own path, and my own process of self discovery so far. I can only teach what I have been through. This was extremely liberating for me - for me to be able to share with a group of people, my journey and my experience, and to allow them into my journey and be a part of a collective appreciation of healing, self exploration and inner discovery. I helped them realise that Reiki Level One was a tool to get to know yourself, and to really learn about yourself and grow to love what you see as you open up your third eye, which is the eye that looks inward, and is not phased by what it really sees.

Even though I personally don't "see" auras, I can "feel" them, but everyone else in the group came away, from not knowing what an aura was, to be able to "see" them, the shapes, the colours, the changing energy. They were able to understand and see that this energy is around them constantly, and they are able to now access it and use it in a directive way to initiate healing primarily for themselves. This perhaps helped them get a feeling of what it was like to be in Dr. Usui's shoes when he was searching for answers himself. What drove him? What was going through his mind? Where did his inspiration come from?

He spent his life dedicated to the search for these answers and he made it his personal mission to find truth, which ultimately resulted in the "eureka" moment of how Reiki was reborn and remembered. By honouring Usui's life work we are so fortunate to be able to use this sacred tool for ourselves and find our own answers.

I feel so blissed out at the moment, and I felt I would like to share this with you, and I want to give my heart felt thanks to Dr. Usui, to the Universe and to Serendipity for working at it's best to help us understand and learn and grow with the lessons, situations and people that we come across in this lifetime.

I feel utterly blessed, and wish you all have your moment of serendipity today that makes you smile as much as I am smiling now!
