This is interesting, because you are perceiving a symbol's geometric structure to be an integral part of it's influential energy. Again, that's something that's down to individual perception. With "geometric", we're typically talking mathematically based structures and shapes, and not all symbols follow such geometry, as some, certainly in the Reiki symbols, are based around the Japanese kanji, so the calligraphic strokes of the individual components of the kanji are considered important, but not necessarily the geometricity of them. As for whether everything really is a sphere, that's what science would lead us to believe, but then ask yourself... why is the solar system not made of planets orbiting in all directions of a sphere, why are they (generally) falling into a plane? Yes, a sphere is considered to be the shape that nature takes for the shape of least energy (as science puts it), such as when we look at bubbles, but get down to quantum levels and we don't even know what is down at that level, especially if you look at quantum entanglement and a single quantum particle being in two places at once... now that's not a sphere... or is it?

In a way giles it matters not how one perceives anything . What we regard as the sun may look slightly different to each individual and one may love the suns energy and one may not, one may burn easily and one may not ... These personal mindful profiles that one attributes to their understandings of the sun doesnt add nor take away the suns energy / properties ..
If any symbol has a designed purpose that is divenly orchestrated then it will have an effect on the d.n.a. It may be noticeable or it may not to the individual as like sublimal messages that one can endure .. Are they aware of the message . The messages can have an effect if the individual is oblivious to them .
All of life is science based . All of life is mathematics . No-thing is without geometry .

Yes a lot of people have never thought about what or why they are here, so it could be said that they have no direction of purpose outside of surviving form one day to the next. 🙂
I agree . In that respect the materials used be it the pen and the paper do not contain the fire nor the spirit of the sun . In that respect the drawn sun will contain the creative expression of the artist although I understand that geometric shapes expressed on any medium be it on canvas or be it in the form of a crop circle will hold an energy . In this instance you are comparing the physical nature of the fire to that of the drawing . There is no comparison made other than shape or perhaps colour to that of the drawing and to that of the actual sun .
But that is the nature of all symbols, they are all created by someone and will hold an element of the consciousness of the creator within them, but on a physical level they are a visual representation of something else.
In the way you have put it Paul I agree, but there are many levels within mind and not everything needs manual interaction there are many mindful triggers that activate, awaken / unlock aspects of self that have laid dormant .
That is what I have been saying, it is only within the consciousness of people that a symbol can be perceived to have power, the Reiki symbols are nothing more that a few squiggles on a piece of paper outside of the consciousness of someone who has been attuned to the original conscious intention of the person who empowered them with a program of intention. 🙂
We work without symbols, so we have nothing outside of our own consciousness to trigger and transform things directly within consciousness, but it still requires us to get creative, nothing happens on its own. 🙂
This is where the description Paul has been using come in. It's down to personal choice. We can choose to let something effect us or choose not to, though many believe that that choice is not there and the influence is something external to themselves... especially if the energetic influence of something has what they perceive to be a 'negative' effect on them... in which case they want to blame something other than accept that they are the one responsible for choosing how they feel.
The suns rays can burn my skin, is that a good thing or a bad thing? It's a matter of perception. I can choose to make it a bad thing (and our media and science will constantly bombard us with messages telling us it's bad, though they are looking at it from a dualistic viewpoint), or I can choose to make it a good thing (if I were vain enough to want to boost my ego into thinking that going on those sun beds will make me a better person in society ) or I can recognise that the sun's energy has en effect on my skin cells, and choose to act or react as is appropriate to the situation I am in right now.

I would agree that if ones will is strong then one can filter out much influence . But if one is not aware of any influence then one can do nothing about it . So where does this leave the individual and what does this say about the core properties and core energies that are of the sun or of sacred geometry / symbols for example . I would say these core energies / properties still exist ..
Whether or not if your skin burns and whether or not you like it lol . The properties of the sun will not change . Only the one that perceives the sun can their perception change .
In relation to a symbol if the symbol has been created / engineered / designed to have an effect similar to that of the suns rays then the energy source that is of the symbol will not change . Perhaps one cannot step into the shade in order to not be effected by the heat of the sun but on a subconscious level how does one deactivate a symbols blueprint .

Are they created by someone?. This is an important factor .
How do these symbols manifest? Whom plants the seeds . Where do they come from . omega mentioned that some stories relate to that the symbols may of always existed .
So perhaps no-one in particular created them, they are just received some how within consciousness to one that can receive them .
My visions could of come from the depths of self that were already encoded to be released / known at a particular point / stage within my awareness or these symbols could of been planted by another being that exists / existed somewhere far away (Lol) ..
I am however not aware of that information .. but what's interesting is that I am not conscious of the answer and if one is not consciously aware in entirety then how does such geometry manifest ..
It's not as if anyone that receives genuine symbols just sits down and tries to create something .. The shapes are already within mind ..

You are right in Usui just programmed and empowered the symbols, they will have be visible in different places that he visited, as I said they where words that had been in usage for a long time before he borrowed them and bent them to his own purpose.
All is one within the oneness of consciousness, when we move beyond the 'I' then we open ourselves to the whole, if something has been conceived within consciousness then the whole of consciousness is aware of it, but what we glean from the oneness has to firstly be perceived within the fullness of self, then it has to be interpreted within the fullness of self so that it can be understood and utilised by self in whatever way self can make use of it or not. 😉

What is Reiki (my own definition, experience based)?
Reiki is not a miracle. I believe it is a kind of re-connection to ones own healthy vibrational state. Self-healing is the process of reaching your genuine healthy vibrational state to able your physical/psychic blockages to react and shift towards a healthy state. The more you perform self-healing, the more you accommodate yourself to your genuine healthy vibrational state and therefore likely to guarantee long term healing effects.
To achieve the re-connection, you need to get attuned to Reiki energy first (also called "Life Force Energy") and then perform reiki self-healing sessions on yourself.
