I work as a volunteer therapist at a hospice one day a week where reiki is my main therapy. Patients are allowed 6 treatments - but if there is no-one on the waiting list then can have more

I get a lot of patients from the Day Hospice. A new lady started attending the Day Hospice and I spoke to her about reiki. I could see from her face she felt it wasn't for her. But I was treating two other ladies both of whom were very enthusiastic about reiki.

After about a month of hearing them enthuse about reiki this lady asked if she could have some reiki so an official referral was sorted out. Her first treatment was awkward as she was uncomfortable lying down so we agreed her next treatment would be seated. Treatment 3 however she was very happy to lie down and the next 3 treatments went even better . Last week she had her 6th treatment and I said any further treatments would depend on my having spaces.

Today the volunteers who help run the day hospice came to me and said PLEASE was their any chance this lady could have some reiki today because she was making their lives a misery because she had come to the end of her treatments. And she was SO pleased (in her own inimitable rather brusque fashion) when I fetched her for a treatment.

I love converting the sceptics!!
