There is a contradiction in that post, you agree that healers instigate the healing process through their intentions and actions, but you then say that they do not heal!

Yes that is correct, Reiki practitioners do not do the healing, the energy does the healing. As Reiki practitioners we connect to and apply the energy appropriately so that the energy can heal. Just like if someone is dehydrated and I take a bottle of water out of my backpack and give them a drink, I am not hydrating them, the water is - I provide the water, the water hydrates them. Same with energy healing, the practitioner provides the energy and the energy does the healing.

Can I suggest that the next time you are ready to perform healing, in stead of stating your intention to start healing, that you state your intention to have no part in the healing what so ever, because you do not believe that you can heal and see what happens.

I am not saying that the practitioner has no part in the healing process, what I am saying is that the practitioner is not doing the healing, the energy is. When a cell receives a signal to repair, it repairs - with energy healing the energy provides that signal so the energy does the healing and not the practitioner.

Hi Giles

Good to see some fresh input to the conversation. 🙂

Not sure it's a contradiction Paul. A person can instigate a fire by striking a match and putting it to the wood/paper, but they are not the creator of fire themselves.

Yes but if someone like a Pranic healer develops themselves to the point that they can set fire to the paper using their own energy through their hands, then they have created the fire. 😉

Agreed. The term energy is used in so many contexts that confusion usually arises. We can say that ego is not energy on the one hand because of the content in which we are perceiving energy, but then on the other hand we can look at energy in the context of "everything is energy" (the old E=mC^2 thing) and perceive ego as being energy too. All depends on context. 🙂

Yes perceptions and context play a big part and that is possibly where we often have a problem understanding each other, I understand that our physical bodies are made of energy the same as every other physical thing that we encounter, but then I do not perceive consciousness as a form of energy in the same way, which is why it can't be detected in the normal ways of detecting energy, so I don't perceive our life force as an energy, but we seem to be stuck with the word energy, so we call it life force energy healing or energy healing, but that is not really correct and does not portray the true nature of what we do. 🙂

Hi Daz

Feelings are thing that we create within our bodies as a response to our thoughts, a symbol has no power in itself, but if we choose to think it has, then we will create a physiological response within our bodies every time we perceive or think of it.

.

Hi Paul .

It can be said also of the opposite as in what feelings arise we give thought too . In regards to a symbol having no power in it’s self I can relate to what you say if we apply that to the placebo effect . However everything in existence has an energy signature and if known one can apply a property to each life signature . What I mean is take any herb .. Many people/animals throughout time have eaten herbs in some shape or form and it matters not if the individual knows of its health benefits or not for whatever resides within the properties of the herbs will have an effect on the mind body, so in that respect one’s mindful thoughts are not swaying such an outcome or effect .

In the same vein we can apply that to colour, frequency or geometry .

It is the same with a perceived fear, the fear might not exist outside of our thoughts, but the feelings associated with that fear will manifest within our bodies whenever we think of it.

.

I agree but yet again the opposite applies . One can be overcome with a fearful sense without knowing or understanding why, It can be said about inner joy, bliss etc, after the event at times can one only begin the thought process that will make sense of it .

The power lies within us, if we choose to think that one colour holds more power than another colour, then we will look for the colour that we choose to perceive as the highest colour and work with that perception, if we believe in frequencies, then we will believe all of the hype about one modality being much higher in frequency than the next one, etc.

The reality is very simple, all is one within the oneness of consciousness, there is no higher or lower, better of worse, there is only the way that we choose to perceive things and the judgements that we place upon our perceptions.

.

I agree the power lies with us .. The question in mind has never been about what colour is better or worse etc, it’s been more about the properties of the colours and the frequencies, and the shapes that can produce a particular result . Certain frequencies work well with certain ailments more than another it doesn’t make any frequency better than the other .

Hi Omega1

I understand the the physical body responds to the environment that is created by the way of being of each person, so although we perceive the mechanism that promotes healing in a different way, they are basically doing the same thing, you perceive that the cell receives some form of signal to repair, where as I perceive that if we wish to change the way that the body is behaving, then we change the environment that it exists in by changing the structure of the life force 'energy' (h'm we definitely need another word to portray the nature of our life force environment) through our matrix of consciousness.

But either way requires the intention of the healer to set it up, for you there needs to be a call to change or repair, for me I need to change the environment that the physical body is reflecting, for either of us to just create and push a life force flow at someone without any direction, then neither of us would have a lot of success in achieving our goal of creating a change, if the change happens, they get healed, if not then they do not get healed, the change is the healing, not the application of the healing flow that we usually perceive.

Just out of curiosity, where did you pick up the concept that healers do not heal?

Hi Giles .

And certain properties that are of the match and the wood and the paper contain properties that allow the fire to ignite and burn . A water droplet would not ignite a spark nor would an ice cream allow a fire to burn . I would say that certain properties are suited for certain results that are required .

It is not the individual that gives the conductivity to copper it is the makeup / blueprint of copper that allows it to be used as a conducter .

Of course you haven't said otherwise .. I am just using your post to emphasis another point .

What are your thoughts in respect to the individual giving power to something like a geometric symbol or do you see that the geometric pattern contains it's own essence .

Hi Daz

Yes it all comes down to perceptions, if someone perceives that a red pill is more powerful than a blue pill, then they will be a lot happier if their pills are red, but what effects do colours have on a blind person or someone who is colour blind, would the effects be the same as with someone who can see colours and has had the time to create a belief concerning the power or effects of different colours?

Whist I agree that everything has its own properties, I also see that we can either choose to enhance, change and some times neutralise them though our way of being, which is set up by our underlying thought patterns and beliefs, which brings the phrase ' one mans meat is another mans poison' to mind. 🙂

I don't think this is a concept I 'picked-up' any more than you 'picked-up' the concept that healers do heal. It is a belief based on my own personal experiences combined with my awareness, guidance and intuition.

It really makes no difference if you believe you are healing and I believe the energy is healing, what matters is that people that receive treatment get healing. As long as personal beliefs do not get in the way of the healing process, it really does not matter.

My own personal feeling is as the Japanese concept that the shape contains energy due to its geometry.

Hi Paul .

I agree that can be the case Paul in the way that you have put it across . Another way of looking at it though Paul is something that I did that was lighthearted in nature concerning my boys and one of my boys girlfriend .

I was sorting out my vitamin supplements and the girlfriend said what does that do for you - pointing at the Niacin tablet . I didn’t say anything regarding the tablets properties .. I said just try one . It doesn’t taste of anything . She said Nah!! but then the boys said that she was a chicken so the boys puffed out there chests and had one each and then confirmed that is was virtually tasteless so the girlfriend then agreed to have one .

5 mins later I noticed that all three of them were starting to itch and look a little flushed . My son looked at his girlfriend and said cor blimey you look a bit red lol, and she said yer I feel really hot and itchy all of a sudden and the two boys said yer me too lol, they looked at me and saw me smiling like a cheshire cat .. Teehee .. It was those bloody tablets weren’t it dad they replied .. Hahha Yer It was those tablets and I explained to them how the niacin works on the toxins in your blood and that as the toxins rise so to speak they are brought to the skins surface (hence the itching and hot flush) .

So In this instance they were oblivious to the tablets properties and yet they all experienced the same symptoms . So that points to me that they did not mindfully influence the effects in any shape or form it was totally down to the properties of niacin . I deliberately withheld the tablets properties and effects from them because I knew that they would not of tried one otherwise .

Whist I agree that everything has its own properties, I also see that we can either choose to enhance, change and some times neutralise them though our way of being, which is set up by our underlying thought patterns and beliefs, which brings the phrase ' one mans meat is another mans poison' to mind. 🙂

I agree that one’s thoughts and belief patterns can be influential in many ways and yet if one was to put a side such beliefs patterns temporarily when one is subjected to something naturally and without prejudice then that something can still have an effect on the individual without any mindful intervention .

Hi Omega

How did the original symbols become known? . Did they come to a master in a vision of sorts? Forgive me but I haven't researched / looked into the history regarding the symbols origin .

How did the master interpret the symbols?

Yes it would be nice if that was the case, but unfortunately our underlying thought patterns and beliefs shape our life experience and healing is just a part of that experience.

This is why a healer needs to self heal and personally develop before they start trying to heal others, if their way of being interprets their self healing intentions through an underlying inner conflict in such a way that it stops them from becoming healed, then that is what they are giving to everyone else, we cannot separate ourselves from what we are or what we do. 😉

I think I mentioned this somewhere on this forum before (the suffering thread): What has happened at times when I've been healing is - directly repairing the matrix. The matrix is made of light. The light has varying colours. If part of a person's matrix becomes a closed system (separated from the Matrix as a whole), this is when physical illness occurs.

Clairvoyant, I've seen the Matrix, and Chakras. The part of the underlying structure of things that I haven't seen is how whirling vortexes of light (Chakras) transition to the straight lines of the Matrix.

Clairvoyantly, I've also seen large white lights 2-3 feet above peoples head. So, essentially it seems, our structure as beings/people, acts as a prism which divides the white light into the separate colours of the Chakras.

....that's some of what's going on.

Isn't this why Steve is a proponent of "getting out of the way"

Mrs Takata said that Usui-sensei saw the symbols at the end of his fast on Mt Kurama as part of his satori or enlightenment. Other stories are that the symbols already existed and Usui-sensei was aware of them before they came to him in his enlightenment.
