What do you guys think of the huge amount of Reiki styles out there now? Do you think that they are a good way to improve the system of Reiki or do you think that they are exploiting the system of Reiki?

Thanks for your reply, although I wasn't suggesting that colourpuncture DID use Reiki symbols!
EDIT: Giles, I think we both posted at the same time

Wow, what a great discussion. (I've got nothing to add, just sitting here as a viewer!) Where are you based Andy and Dawn? Your web-site addy seems to have gone awol.

It was here a few minutes ago, before I went off to post elsewhere!!! Perhaps there's a technical glitch? It's now visible in their profile, which it wasn't earlier, when it was on the page [:-]:D
RE: What do you think?
I've PM'd it to Sharon just in case Andy and Dawn have decided they don't want it publicised for some reason.
Edit: Ah actually it looks like Amber has removed it for some reason.... Can't see why myself, everyone else has links to their web sites on here.
RE: What do you think?
Rainbow Reiki is not what Usui would have called what he was doing because he did not have the scientific terminology to describe Reiki but he matched the frequency of the condition with the frequency of the energy he was using to heal. A student of Hayashi explains this very thing in an article written in 1928. Someone has called it Rainbow Reiki but it is not a separate system and does not use different energy or symbols.
Some people can see the energy but not everyone can when they are healing. We have had students who are able to see the energy and clients who can see the symbols and their colours when we heal them.
Energy that comes from The Universe, God or however you choose to name the most powerful creative force in the universe is more perfect than any other energy in existence and so although colourpuncture therapy probably does work to some degree it is not a connection to The Universe and does not raise a human's frequency or use such powerful energy. The energy of the Universe is infinite in it's power and wisdom and if we can realise it's potential we are able to use that energy ourselves. Only humans put limitations on the energy they use.
We are based in Enfield North London.

??? Site hiccups maybe, Giles. The edit clock is now you see it, now you don't, as well. Has been for a few days. But at least the time now seems to be right, not six hours out!!! Ah well, onward and upward [sm=dance.gif]
Perhaps in the meantime we should Reiki the situation - what colour should we use, I wonder [sm=scratchchin.gif]
RE: What do you think?
Dawn, it's not an active link now, though. Another member had the same problem recently in a different thread. I believe Admin sorted it.

You are all correct, it was there before, but as you know, that kind of information is allowed in the signature space and not in the actual body of the post...
Like Lauras said, it is now in dreamspirit's profile and maybe they will have it in their signature soon where we all can see it...
Hope that clears up any confusion?

RE: What do you think?
See my post above, Amber, I think we "crossed".
RE: What do you think?
My intuition says Green, with SHK symbol and perhaps the HSZSN symbol too. Healing for the emotions of the distance situation

RE: What do you think?
Laura... It did indeed... lol
RE: What do you think?
You do not need to use colours for other symbols, just SHK and CKR. HSZSN and DKM are used as connections and not to heal. They are made up of Japanese Kanji and actually form phrases in Japanese, for example DKM means 'Great White Light' and represents a connection to God or The Universe. A Reiki Master is thus enabled to become the bridge between heaven and earth. HSZSN is a distance symbol and used only as a connection across time and space. They are not actually used to heal, just to connect.
Andy is from a particle physics background so that is why I said he would explain it better later on. He is better at describing the scientific reasoning than myself. He is the science and I am the art.

Woooah! if we've got a particle physicist on our hands we're gonna have to call in Leo from the Scientific Matters forum... *runs off to find Leo*

RE: What do you think?
I think I'll edit myself outa here for the time being, my brain's getting edited :D:D:D
RE: What do you think?
Anyway the point is try working with the energy in active way and see the difference. Leo is welcome to join in if he wants. Treating the condition directly is far more effective and understanding that you only need the energy from Usui Reiki helps you to raise your own frequency and help other people more effectively with Reiki.
RE: What do you think?
I'm so pleased Andy is from a particle physics background - my husband is a physicist and just can't accept Reiki - although he sees all the time that it works (with our cat's paw last night!). Perhaps Andy can explain Reiki in terms my husband can accept. Perhaps in another thread?

RE: What do you think?
If you used both symbols, the energies would clash because they are intended to be used for different types of healing.
interesting thread..and whilst i will probably not get involved much further than this except to say I really dont think the energies clash, they are part of one system, most illness do have an effect on both levels physically and emotionally so the two should be just fine together....your body will of course use and take that which it needs...I dont think clashing comes into it!!!

RE: What do you think?
I'd agree with you there Tigs.
As an EFT practitioner it's well known that the physical, emotional and energy systems are all interconnected.
Treating one or more of these will effect the others.
Reiki works for the better good. No reason for clashes.

RE: What do you think?
Andy is teaching at the moment Spinal Music so I will get him to explain it on here later on for you.
The energies do clash. If someone has an emotional problem you should heal that separately to the physical problem. If the person needs physical and emotional healing then do a physical healing for them in one session and an emotional in the other. There needs to be a half hour gap in between the two types of healing or they can make the person quite sick. A Reiki healer once used both symbols to heal me and it made me violently ill.
If you use one symbol you are concentrating the frequency and amplitude of the energy and making it more intense, by using two you are confusing two different types of energies and they may not necessarily work well together and will not work to such an intensity. If you are guided for a particular person to use two symbols through intuition then it is ok in that circumstance but otherwise they should not be used together.
Japanese Reiki documents have explained that CKR is earth energy and SHK is heaven energy and physical healing should be complete before emotional healing takes place. They explain to use the symbols separately.

RE: What do you think?
exactly Energylz and not to detract from the reiki (I do both eft and reiki in terms of energy modalities) you just HAVE to treat the both, we are afterall looking at the person as a whole and not just treating the symptom.

Sometimes the problems are instrinscially interlinked and so you cannot separate, also I am curious as too why 30mins....where did this come from?

RE: What do you think?
I don't do EFT, but in principle I agree totally with you and Giles. I'd just add the mental aspect, too. "Treating" is not the right word to use in respect of Life Coaching, but the effects of successful coaching are in some ways not dissimilar to a Reiki healing ... Reiki can be every bit as motivational as goal setting, sometimes more so!!! Anyway, I think my name probably suggests my belief in "looking at the person as a whole" as you phrased it.
Not "Holistic" for nothing, you know
RE: What do you think?
Of course it is essential to look at the person as a whole and that includes aspects of their lifestyle but if for instance someone had a back pain that was actually caused by an emotional trauma it would be more effective to use a CKR in say for example violet which makes it physical bordering on emotional (thereby using the correct frequency), than to use SHK and CKR (which have very different purposes and frequencies to eachother. Just try using the symbols separately and you will feel the difference. CKR feels so different to SHK because it has a much lower frequency.
RE: What do you think?
Hi I've just finished teaching for the day....
glad to see such a huge response....
So much to explain I don't know where to start!
For Spinal Music:
Energy healing, whether it is called Reiki or by any other name uses electro-magnetic energy. Research has been carried out to demonstrate this. It has been shown that an energy healer channels electro-magnetic energy into their crown chakra and out of their hands. This energy has been measured and quantified whilst the healer was treating a client. This energy comes from all around us, from the Earth, from space, basically this is the Universal energy that we refer to in a spirtual sense.
It has also been demonstrated that every part of the human body has its own frequency, and that it follows on from this that to treat a particular condition you need to use energy at that frequency to have a direct effect. The Usui symbols act like energy filters, each healing symbol allows a range of frequencies to be channelled. When combined with colour, the frequency range is made narrower, allowing a more precise frequency of energy to be used. This makes the healing much more focused and direct. Think of it as the difference between a light bulb (multi-frequency white light) and a laser (single frequency light).
As each symbol has a specific frequency, when used together the combined frequencies may clash and be less effective. It is the energetic equivalent of listening to 2 different songs at once - all you hear is noise even though you like both songs.

RE: What do you think?
Where do we begin!
Symbols are not the energy they are used to connect us to the energy beings that supply us with the energy we share with others.
You can use more than one symbol at a time the same as we often combine different energy modalities utilising many different energy connections, the energy beings are pure consciousness, so they sort out what is needed most of the time and interpret our intentions liberally.
Usui developed two energy system that work with different energy connections, so no one connection can connect you to all of the energy beings out there, that is a complete misunderstanding of energy work, this is not physical electromagnetic energy we are working with but the collective energy of pure consciousness.
Energy does not just enter the crown with some connections it comes up our legs and it can enter through our hands, to a lesser extent it comes in though all of our energy matrixes from all around us.
Comparing our energy bodies to our physical bodies will not give us an insight into our energy matrixes as they are not the same thing at all.
RE: What do you think?
Hey everyone,
Well....."wow"......this is a great development of ideas and options. Before I join in (if I dare) let me just say. "Just for today I will let go of my worry".
I love how music has returned to the story of Reiki and the use of symbols but I do have a few questions which I feel need to be addressed.
It is the energetic equivalent of listening to 2 different songs at once - all you hear is noise even though you like both songs
Now I'm only a psychology student but from the study of the human hearing system I was taught that even a simple sound can be made up of many different frequencies, an actual song in itself is a combination of many frequencies which create a perfect tune that can be enjoyed. The same stands for light, which has been pointed out through this discussion that it is made up of a spectrum, that is it contains red, yellow, blue, etc.........long story short, light contains a mixture of frequencies and it seems to work without any problems. I therefore feel that if a practitioner uses an energy which uses several different frequencies, or they apply several different symbols during a treatment that can help both physical and emotional or even spiritual then that’s how it should be used without worry and with good intention. I'm not a crystal healer but I think that one would agree that each crystal has its own frequency setting and that a combination of crystals are used in the aiding of healing?
However I do agree that if there are too many used at the same time then this could be a little overpowering and that it something that I’m sure many master teach to their students, a good healer knows how to use the energy or at least senses how to use it.
I love some of the concepts that have been put forward by both Dawn and Andy, and by everyone else in this forum. I feel its helping me to continue my knowledge of the energy I work with and where it has been developing from. I would however like some reference to the actual research that shows each body part has its own frequency setting? This is a new concept for me which I would love to read about.
I do have only one more question which seems to have appeared in this discussion,
It doesn’t seem that evolution is the nature of most Reiki systems but perhaps ego and greed.
after spending some time on dreamspirits website I find it would cost me £800 (£350 for level 3 and £450 for level 4) to become a teaching master? I though that the traditional Reiki systems and even the non traditional stick to three (1, 2 and 3 aka Mastership). However I do have to say that the website is very nice and for anyone looking for some reading material it has some good pieces that I’m sure many will find insightful. Well done Dreamspirit!

RE: What do you think?
Symbols are not the energy but they filter the energy to give a narrower frequency range, like using a laser beam as opposed to a lightbulb .i.e. all the energy is channeled at one frequency as opposed to a spectrum of frequencies.
What do you mean by "energy beings"? The energy used in Reiki comes from The Universe or God which is highest creative energy, not from any higher being. It has been proven that the universe is held together by an unexplained intelligent energy as the measured forces are not sufficient to hold the universe together. This intelligent energy we choose to call God. Higher beings can help us in the healing but they do not provide energy, their energy would not be pure enough and would not be infinite.
What do you mean by "pure conscioussness"? Higher beings do not make up for our mistakes or laziness. We should choose to heal to the best of our ability. It is no one elses responsibility but ours to work with energy in the correct way.
We are working with electromagnetic energy this is what creative energy is made of in scientific terms.
It has been proven that energy healers channel energy through the crown chakra and out of their hands. This energy has been measured and has been proven to be electromagnetic. All our bodies work with electromagnetic energy and it is called bio electric and bio magnetic energy. The aura is a bio magnetic field. It doesn't matter what you choose to call this energy it is still electromagnetic in nature. This doesn't take away from the spiritual nature of the energy we use nor does it make it any less amazing and wonderful.

RE: What do you think?
Hello Dancing Nick,
Firstly, we agree that frequencies can be mixed to great effect but for most healers it would be beyond their level of awareness to do this. By using the single frequency you are directing the energy at a specific and maximising the healing for that condition. A specific condition needs a single frequency not a mixture of frequencies. You treat one thing at a time to get the most positive results.
We structure our courses to suit people's needs. The Reiki 3 course you refer to is the Healing Mastership. This is not compulsory for people to do before they do the Teaching Masters .i.e. level 4. It is purely for practitioners that want to learn specific techniques for treating different conditions. It gives practitioners a bigger range of options. This corresponds more closely to Usui Sensei's original teachings.

RE: What do you think?
Hi dreamspirit
It is all down to choices and it appears to be your choice to try an rationalise the energies into something that fits your understanding instead of allowing your consciousness to expand and see the bigger picture.
I wish you well on your journey
