hello everyone
any tips and insights on treating hiatus hernia?
much appreciated
What has been tried so far?
Well? What has been tried?
Losing weight is probably a good first start. t is often related to or made worse by being overweight.
Ask your pharmacist for advice about antacids
Track what foods make it worse and avoid them
It can be stress related so some stress management advice from someone like me may help.
But if symptoms persist you need to see your GP
Sorry that is very general....but as Jabba says without knowing what has been tried it is very difficult to know what to say.....
thank you so much!
great help and i appreciate the time you put in replying
cheers!!
When I had an inguinal hernia a few years ago, I treated it with Reiki for an hour every day while I was waiting for an operation. The hernia got better and my doctor cancelled the operation. Maybe you could try having some Reiki treatments for your hernia and see if it helps?

If you are giving Reiki, do you need to know what is physically 'wrong'?
Agree with Crowan - 'tear in his stomach' is a bit vague - plus, are you supposed to say that you are actually going to 'treat' a specific condition, rather than simply giving reiki?

A tear in the stomach is NOT a hiatus hernia. The tear is the hiatus.....but the hernia bit is something sticking through the gap left by the tear. However HH is normally a gap in the diaphragm with a bit of stomach sticking through....
It could be he doesn't understand what the doctor told him however since a 'tear in the stomach' is potentially dangerous and I don;t get the impression the person is anxiously waiting for an endoscopy or something similar...
When I give reiki I always have the intention that the symptoms I have discussed with the patient will be relieved with the caveat that all healing is for the patients highest good. Sometimes a symptom is a signal that you need to consult a doctor.....so relieving the symptom is NOT for their highest good. *
I would never ask for a hiatus hernia to be healed because I cannot know it IS a hiatus hernia!! And I am not allowed to diagnose even if when the patient described their symptoms I think it is Hiatus Hernia. (Although if I explain I am also a pharmacist I feel I have a little more leeway since pharmacist 'diagnose' when selling OTC medicines)
So although we don't need to know what is physically wrong.....we DO need to be aware of 'red light' symptoms that indicate a doctor needs to be consulted.
*I had a friend who tried self healing (not with reiki as far as I know )for over a year for pain and bleeding with no effect. It turned out she had ovarian cancer!!

I think it is not necessary to know what the condition is, but by knowing what the condition is, a Reiki practitioner can add visualisation and intention when giving the treatment to potentially improve the healing effects of the energy.

I think this is where a medical history questionnaire comes in handy. Get the client to complete a questionnaire so you know exactly what you are treating.
