Hi All [sm=wave.gif]

I have just finished my Reiki II and am looking at starting up soon! I am in the process of buying a therapy bed and have been looking on EBay and there are so many.

The one's that look particularly good are the wooden framed beds with the metal support system and adjustable back rest etc.

Can any members pleaseoffer advice and opinions on buying a bed? I am sure lots of members have used different ones but are there any that I am wise steering clear of? Of course I would not want a patient collapsing in a heap on the floor! [sm=rollaugh.gif]

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Love Heidi xx

I got this one...sorry bit of a crazy long link! It's from beautyandtherapysuppliesuk shop. It's really sturdy, comfy etc. I got one which had extra folding up bit as I need to use it for other therapy too but I would def recommend this. Very helpful and quick delivery too! And can go quite high if need be as I tend to get sore back if it's too low...

The only couches I buy and recommend to my students are marshcouch.

Hi Moongoddess

If its of any help, look at BMC on the internet (Best Massage Couch) from Germany. I have one, with wooden adjustable legs, 10yr garantee.

Tip*
how wide
how long
what wieght can couch take.....(people come inall shapes and sizes)
how comfortable - plenty of padding - (client could belay therefor upto an hour)
Working height for you must be right. When standing arms straight and couch to your wrist or hands lay flat on couch.

Natural wood legs, for grounding and running universal energy. You can always use pillows for head's knees, or use towles rolled up for under ankles.

Cheers Casterway x

You missed the tip...

How light?

Especially if you are planning on carting the couch around places. 😉

Whatever brand you look at...if you wouldn't stand on it, don't buy it.

Also it is useful to get one with a face hole facility and back rest in case you expand your therapies and suddenly find out how useful these features are.
Regards.

[color="#9900cc"]I bought a massage bed from fits-up on ebay, it is VERY HEAVY please take note of this as suggested by Energylz.
the bed wasnt expensive really around £70 and its the colour I wanted as well which is a bonus as my room is cream/white so the bed had to match, I have green towls for outdoor sessions and white for indoor as well.

The bed I bought is just under 400lbs, so I suppose it isnt a bad weight, just awkward to cart about. I also agree with mysterious me in the fact that if you would not stand on it dont bother buying it. I have a client who is over 20 stone and my table is fine with this, no bowing or any less sturdy. hope this helps.
