Hi Butterfly

I haven't heard of this symbol either, but in the last 20 years of western reiki, a lot more symbols have been developed, over and above the original 4 Usui ones . It's just personal choice what we do and come up with.

Best Wishes

grace is a channelled symbol added on to some peoples reiki...., seems a bit pointless to me cos you can,t do healing without a notion of what grace is....or can you..i guess some felt it nessesary to include it due to some students having a warped idea of why they were doing reiki in the first place, i did have a bit more on it but that got burned with most of the rest of my reiki stuff..which is another matter entirly:rolleyes:

Well it's certainly not one of the traditional Reiki symbols.
I do wonder why some feel the need to channel new symbols when the ones we have with traditional Reiki cover all aspects we need.

To be honest I think it is enough to have the symbols the main ones and ask for grace, calmness, protection etc with out extra symbols. intention is important.

In truth, I believe it comes down to many human factors, ego, control, lack of self importance, insecurities etc.

In the end, and in your terms Flit, I think it is all to do with people feeling a lack of love and believing they can find it by putting themselves forward as the "creator" of something new. As the creator, they believe people will look up to them as someone special, someone who should be respected, someone to be loved for the gift they have provided etc.

The truth is that people should give respect, love and look up to the unique nature of everyone around them and those who are seeking the love need to recognise that it is already there, within them, but it is being clouded from their vision by their conscious will (learnt responses, judgmental ideas etc.)

Some people would read (hear) such words and say it's not true; that they have no love and nobody loves them. This comes from their own fears of showing the love that they have, and by not showing their own love they are also closed off from accepting love. Only they can recognise that this is the way it is within them, and only they can choose to let go of that fear and open themselves up to feel the love that exists in everything.

Could it be seichem or karuna, or angelic reiki? I've never come across it either.

I am trying to find a book I came across onces that was about other symbols used in reiki, could be in there. I have been give 6 symbols in total, 3 when I did Master, could be another name for one of those.

Hiya all

I went goggling for info, the closest I got was a contents page to reiki-evolutions masters guide, and it is listed under a section called 'Karma Clearing' but no picture so I can't even say if its one I have come across but under a different name.

Why are we so fascinated by the desire for all these symbols, they are not required to channel Reiki.

I have been told that the Grace symbol is associated with the Simon Treselyan lineage and is used to get rid of karmic patterning. Unfortunately I can't find an image of it, as yet ......... Still looking though....;)

Surely, compassion and unconditional love for all things is what is needed to removed negative karma. Wishful thinking methinks to be able to use a symbol to do it. If that were possible, all the Buddhists would be learning this symbol to use in order to escape samsara more quickly. 😀

Hi Giles, thank you for your sharing.
When I read this I felt worried....

in your terms

because I have wondered if I have mentioned Love too much and if it may seem like that is the thing I talk about on here..
and I wondered what it would be like if I didn't mention Love...
then what would be left and what would I talk about.... because I don't talk about Love in real life, only if someone asks me directly about something.

So, I just wanted to share that I am very aware that it may seem like I want to talk about Love, but I am aware of this...
do I talk about it to make myself special?
And I just hope not
and I just hope that I can allow this....

open themselves up

and can begin to see the value of me
whether I know I am loved or not.
Giles, thank you for your words.
I must not make out I am special because I know of the Love, we all are special and specially Loved anyway, whether we know it or not.

All I know about the symbols is that they didn't happen for me.

How can you mention Love too much? 😉

Honestly, Love is the way that you express yourself, and is simply how I recognise you from what I've read that you have written.

We all have different ways of expressing what we mean and knowing the 'truth' within ourselves, and your way is with Love. I could have explained my post above using terminology that I use the most, but that would probably have just left you asking more questions, so instead I 'converted' my terminology into what I understand to be yours in order to make it an answer that would fit with your own understanding.

Keep giving the Love Flit. 🙂

interesting opinion......so wer'nt symbols used in your attunement then?....[assuming your attuned], fundamentally i agree with you as you dont need reiki to do reiki ....unless of course if one feels they need to be bound to a system of some sort to do healing when what is important is intent. For those still digging re. grace i believe their is some australian women involved.

Yes. I was attuned many years ago and no the symbols were not used in my attunement, nor have I ever used them when attuning or empowering others.

As Taggart King said "Firstly, it is interesting to note that the 'attunement' methods used by Mikao Usui's Reiki Association in Japan (the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai) do not involve the use of symbols: the Gakkai's students are connected to Reiki, but the Reiki symbols are not used in this process".

We are talking about two completely different Reiki systems here, one uses symbols to work though and the other works through consciousness and personal spiritual development.

With so many forms of Reiki around it is not always easy to discern which system people are referring to, it would be quite helpful if people referred to the type of Reiki they use in their answers.

I am interested to know what are the two reiki systems you are talking about, as I am sure others will be.

You have Usui's original self development system, which does not use attunements, rather it uses empowerments which are more of a form of blessing with the side effect of awakening the recipients to the spiritual aspects of energy, then you have his later system which has attunements to enable people to work through the symbols, what we term western Reiki.

I hope that clarifies it?

I have to agree with Healistic here.

I WAS attuned using symbols and was made familiar with many of them (including the grace symbol)

But.....in my Reiki practice I do not bring in symbols, I just use pure intention. I am also seeing auras but have not pursued this, any time I look up information on auras I get different answers as to what is what.

I am only interested that the person who is receiving Reiki is getting some benefit from it.

Hi Paul, it is good to read your words. Thank you for your sharing. I hope it is alright to ask something,.....

You have Usui's original self development system

what is this called?

Believe it or not it was not named by Usui, saying that over here it seems to go by the name Usui Teate, there are a few variations around, and some of them attempt to bring both systems together as one.

Healing was not emphasised with Usui's original system, it was more a path of self enlightenment, with healing being a side effect of personal spiritual development.

Western Reiki emphasises healing simply because that was what the system came into existence for, it is a spiritual first aid kit.

The fascinating thing about it all is that Reiki is Spiritual Healing by another name Usui did not invent Reiki, Spiritual Guided life force energy has been with us since time began.

Hi Paul, thanks for your sharing....

it was more a path of self enlightenment

I would just like to share something, that this means to me....

I believe that it can be our walk within this living oneness that can allow and open up the healing that we are, anyway. I believe that each one of us is healing anyway, and it is how we unlock or simply allow our potential that is the fun part!

healing being a side effect of personal spiritual development.

That makes sense to me for I didn't get into this for the healing. It just happened...so just......thank you for your sharing. It is helping me in that I know what I think, but sharing it is another ( braver ) thing.
And if I think something as a result of someone's sharing, then that is helpful in allowing me the expansion of my thoughts.

So, just thank you.
