Its interesting isnt it the amount of links we are finding for this sound therapy.....but its the best way to demonstrate, and Ive found another

This lady gives a comprehensive demonstration of using coloured crystal bowls, therefore healing with both sound and musical notes to the chakra, and colour, it was interesting to note as she went through the bowl I breathed deeply with, and the ones that caused a natural cough :)....

You can experiment with the bowls with water - by filling it you will see the effects and patterns created by the vibration of the sound. Some of the bowls are fountain bowls - you can see the water leaping up and down. You can tune the bowls by varying the amount of water in them. Here's a quote from a book called Singing Bowls by Eva Rudy Jansen...

"I strike the rim of the bowl softly at first and then slightly harder. At first slowly, but then in faster cadences...
The water in the bowl is ruffled in a fin herring-bone pattern: the same endlessly repeated pattern that is engraved on the side of the bowl.
suddenly the miracle happens again. Drops of water shoot up in four places, higher and higher, until the round, silver drops spray out several inches above the rim of the bowl and then fall backinto the bowl with a clear, splashing sound accompanying the familiar singing of the bowl, with their sparkling sound".

I'd put a towel underneath just in case.

well, Ive been out on the hunt.....and brought one home chez fleur 🙂

Sure confused the dog though as I went round room by room, donging, ringing and pinging my singing bowl.... made me wonder how it sounds to an animal.

I assume the noise was carried all around the room though becasue he kept looking all over a little startled....the soud vibrations must have been bouncing off the walls or something. :dogrun:
