Hi peeps
I am askgn if anyone has been attuned to either or both of these reiki systems. I have had this strong urge to be attuned to them, for the past three years, but with what I have been experiencing I decided to put it all on hold, till thigs were balanced.

Any way I would appreciate any views, feelings, and experiences

Love
Jill:)

I have never come across shammballa, but I was attuned to seichem when I did Tera Mai Reiki. Seichem enables you to use different elements such as sakara Fire energy for pain ect) Sophi-el (water energy) and angelic light. We are able to call on the energies required and thre is a noticalble difference when using each

Thanks for that Tin:)

Shamballa is a multidimensional seystem (all reiki systems are) There are four-6 levels to Shamballa the end result is you get 352 symbols to work with:eek:

However this is not the reason I am really being drawn to it. I know its an extension of St Germain and Quan Yin two divine energies that I very much respect:) and humble to.:FIFangel:

Fleur I would suggest for you to look it up, thats always a good thing so you can find out the pro`s and cons;)

Now I have been guided as well as recommended to two people who teach Shamballa, however both will be done via distance atunments, with certificate and cirticficate of lineage.

I am always wary of distance atunments especially on ebay, as you can never be certain, specially when it means handing your cash over `bodge it and legit lol` Yet they seem sincere enough and good vibes all around

Much Love
Jill

Having read the info on Shamballa Reiki (why is it spelt with two l's? Usually that word is spelt Shambhala), I am a little skeptical of it. It indicates there are 352 symbols or possibly more and you don't have to learn them, they will just come to you. a) how do they know there are 352 if they aren't documented b) whatever symbols come to you when healing will be what is correct by that system.

It also claims to be an expansion of Reiki and "uses many of the symbols in reiki but creates a complete system of healing" as if Reiki isn't a complete system of healing already.

All seems a little scatty to me, and yet another form of Reiki someone has created.

I guess, if it feels right for you then go for it, but personally I think it's all a lot simpler than they are making out.

As for Seichim, I haven't learnt this form although I did learn Sekhem when it existed (Helen Belot has now taken then name and prevents anyone from using it), and I have attended an All Love workshop with Patrick Zeigler. I think (and I'm sure Patrick would concur with this) that Patrick now sees that all the symbols and things that originally came about when he worked with the SKHM (Seichim, Sekhem) system are not now seen as necessary in order to work with the energies. All that is needed is love and pure intention. After attending his workshop, I can say that it truly does work.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

All Love and Reiki Hugs

I am with you on the pure intent and love. Indeed you do not need the symbols to be able to channel healing reiki or other wise, because what is truly needed will make its self known to you and the patient/client:D

And yes there are so many systems out there these days, its hard to pin point which are good and which are not.

Once again any tips here is appreciated:)

Love
Jill

Hi Itharial,

I've not been attuned to either Shamballa or Seichim, but I was attuned to Karuna Reiki (another of the more modern systems popular in the west) in 2000. It uses some of the same symbols as Tera Mai, and I believe there's been some ongoing legal disputes between the respective founders involved.

It was all quite interesting, but in hindsight, it didn't really resonate with me. I think my biggest criticism, looking back on it all, was not with the system itself but with the way it was presented. It seems that many of new systems of Reiki that have emerged since the 1980's feel a need to market themselves as more "complete", "powerful" or "evolved" than poor old plain "Usui Reiki".

That being said, my first "Usui Reiki" course in 1998 was quite a brief affiar, with Levels I and II taught simultaneously within the space of about 5 hours. Energetically, it was very powerful, but I had so many questions afterwards, and didn't really understand what I had been given to work with. I think my real develoment only came years later, and with a lot of practice and contemplation.

Eventually I felt guided to explore the Japanese roots of Reiki, and at last found an approach that felt right for me. I was really amazed by the depth of the teachings and the effectiveness of the techniques, which bore very little resemblance to the abridged version of "Usui Reiki" which I had first been exposed to years before.

I'm not saying that modern approaches such as Karuna, Seichim, Shamballa etc. don't have something to offer people...I'm sure that people can and do get a lot out of these systems...otherwise there would not be so many enthusiastic supporters of them. But often I wish that *some* of them would consider a more humble approach to their marketing, and show a little more respect for Usui's teachings... rather than promoting their approach as an "improvement" on an "incomplete" system.

So yes, just a few thoughts. Hope it's helpful and all the best with whatever you decide, take care!

Rather intersting and valid points made aurora. 🙂

Indeed there many systems of reiki, and it is often confusing if not baffling in which system is the most beneficial.
I feel it would be wise for me to look more `deeply` into the Usui system. I have seen there are attunments available under the Usui flag, however I am wondering if they are genuine and the real deal.:023::032:

Yes, I think it's important to look around and do a bit of research before embarking on a Reiki course, from any tradition. What is "authentic" when it comes to Reiki is a subject of much debate, and as the practice is so personal, any kind of regulation is difficult.

On the positive side, this means that practitioners enjoy the freedom to practice in the way that feels best for them, and also to create entirely new healing systems altogeher if they choose. But it can also create confusion, as people are basically free to teach whatever they like under the general umbrella of "Reiki".

I think that finding the right approach for oneself generally takes some time, and often a bit of trial and error. I'm really grateful for past training even in systems that didn't resonate personally with me, as the experience helped to clarify the direction in which I wanted my Reiki practice to evolve. i.e. if you know what *doesn't* work for you, then it becomes a little easier to understand what might work a little better!

If you're interested in looking at Reiki from a Japanese perspectives, a good resource is the International House of Reiki website at . The organisation was founded by Frans and Bronwen Stiene, authours of The Japanese Art of Reiki and several other really good books as well.

I've also heard really positive things about Jikiden Reiki, and here's their UK site:

I rember reading some Giles' impressions from his Jikiden course awhile back, which were really insightful...thanks Giles (in hindsight)!

Hi

Just to chip in as I've seen Jikiden reiki mentioned, I was jikiden reiki 'attuned' last November and I have only positive things to say about it. It is nice and simple, effective, and the teaching style is very respectful of the origins of reiki. Dan and Rika are very supportive teachers too and have kept in touch regularly, they never shy away from questions, even if they do not know the answers sometimes they will do the research to try and find out the answers.

The attunement was really the start of the journey for me, I am still learning with reiki and loving it.

Yes, I learnt Jikiden Reiki last year. As Curious George says, it's simple, effective and keeps to Japanese roots of Reiki.

There will always be contention over what is the true Japanese roots and methods and I don't think anyone will ever truly know how Usui really did originally teach it. But, to me, Jikiden felt very right.

I know Dan and Rika as I learnt western Reiki (level 1) with them back in 2004 and they have done well to progress as teachers of Jikiden. There are also a few other teachers of Jikiden in the UK and it depends on your location who would be your nearest one. Because of the way Jikiden is passed on and regulated, each teacher should teach the same methods in the same way.

All Love and Reiki Hugs
