Reiki is really great. Using it for more than 10 years already but mostly for myself 🙂

A friend of mine is into Shamanism but that's about all I know 😉

Have a good one!

Reiki - shamanic drumming - didgeridoos.....It sounds fantastic!

Where do you get to hear about these circles? They don't seem to have any near me!

I attend a Kirtan chanting group that celebrate the Hindu festivals and the Shamanic drumming was at one of the venues......although I belong to a number of healing circles....the Shamanic drumming raised sooo much energy. It was truly amazing.

I attended with a very experienced Shaman, and even she was amazed at the energy that was produced.

The medicine wheel was marked with a corridor of candles shaped like a back to front question mark, with the entrance to the wheel in the South.......it was very clearly marked by a coloured tape placed on the floor. Each person entered from the South gateway and exited from the same gateway, just tracing their steps back.

Healing was performed by two Reiki Masters whilst the drums and diggeridoo were aimed at the person receiving the healing.....we also did some journeying.......brilliant

Google Medicine Wheel, you'll find loads. Its a Native American/shamanic practice using the medicine wheel and the directions of the wheel to help you in your life. Its also very powerful to call in the directions and then 'be' in the centre of the wheel which is how you can use it with Reiki. Very simplistic explanation but way too complex to go into much detail here.

Started my own. I already had a Reiki sharing group and several of us drum using shamanic/hoop/frame drums for healing and journeying so I decided to formailse it a bit and arrange regular healing drum circles. We now meet every few weeks and have been joined by others.

You don't need experience just drums/rattles the ability to keep time like with a heartbeat and some enthusism.

And really easy to do. If you don't have enough drum you can use children's hand drums, maraccas anything that makes a noise, I've even been prsent when people have used split peas in tins.

Hiya Butterflywings

Would creating a magick circle and calling the quarters/elements and then do reiki in the 'sacred space' have a similar effect as a medicine wheel?

Don't know anything about creating a magick circle. When you work with a medicine wheel for group work you call in the directions, acknowledge and thank them. It is about working with the spirit and enegy of each direction. For individual work it is usual to have a wheel set up in some way.

I have this on Reiki Circles if you want to give it a try. let us know how you find it if you do.

Reiki Circle

Stand facing North
Point your hand at the North wall and allow energy to flow to perimeter of room or where you want boundary to be
Visualise energy beaming from hand and turn clockwise creating ring of energy around space.
Repeat 3 times.

Face North
Draw a double Power Symbol (‘flags’ pointing in to create a doorway) and chant names x3
Say:
‘To the North I invite the healers of Earth and the Body to be present. Hail and Welcome’

Face East
Draw a double Power Symbol (‘flags’ pointing in to create a doorway) and chant names x3
Say:
‘To the East I invite the healers of Fire and the Soul to be present. Hail and Welcome’

Face South
Draw a double Power Symbol (‘flags’ pointing in to create a doorway) and chant names x3
Say:
‘To the South I invite the healers of Air and the Mind to be present. Hail and Welcome’

Face West
Draw a double Power Symbol (‘flags’ pointing in to create a doorway) and chant names x3
Say:
‘To the West I invite the healers of Water and the Heart to be present. Hail and Welcome’

You can also draw the double Power Symbol on the floor and ceiling

You can draw any other symbols that you want to use in the centre

To Release the Space

Reverse actions going counter clockwise. It is not necessary to draw any symbols.

‘To the North I thank and release the healers of Earth and Body. Hail and Farewell.’

‘To the West I thank and release the healers of Water and Heart. Hail and Farewell.’

‘To the South I thank and release the healers of Air and Mind. Hail and Farewell.’

‘To the East I thank and release the healers of Fire and Soul. Hail and Farewell.’

Face North
Raise hands and move counter clockwise once imaging the ring of light expanding out infinitely.

Hiya Butterflywings

Thanx for posting. What I meant about a magick circle is like what you have described, except using pentagrams instead of the double power symbol. 🙂

I have also seen what you have described written in my 'Magick of Reiki' book. Next time i do some hands-on reiki with someone which this would resonate with I will have to try it 🙂

no medicine wheel, just Reiki and drumming!!

I've also been to a diggeridoo workshop (and I still can't play it!!!) and the person was explaining about it as well (he learnt from Aborigines) and dispelled some myths about it. Then he gave a most amazing diggeridoo performance where he came round and played at our feet as we were laying down .... wow!

Hi,
We attune our students to the Usui Reiki but also add the Native American Indian Ma'heo'o Reiki, we work with the medicine wheel and play native indian music which makes the attunement process much more powerful, its amazing!
