Well it's only taken them 14 months to analyse and publish the results of the 81 respondents, and apparently VSR received the resounding support of 51%.
(ok 'resounding' is me being sarcastic, but it is 4:30 in the morning)

I've not had time to print off and review the results, but I for one find it depressing that there were so few responses. If the RRWG insist that such a dismal sample is indeed representative of the Reiki community then it seems that the future of Reiki practice in the UK will now be shaped by the opinions of just 41 people.

Where was everybody in autumn 2006????

The site is a bit confusing - I'm not a Reiki person, but interested in where VSR is going. Did you mean the Report of 2006 Consultation Document (Dated Jan 07)? There are 37 pages - is that the one? The Results sheet is a bit 'woolley' - as for the 'roadshow' in 9 centres - an audience of 'a few' to 'about 20' is hardly representative of the growing number of reiki therapists in the country. I get the impression that the original questionnaire was not worded sufficient to get yes/no answers - some of the questions have been answered with more questions!
This is just going to go round in circles isn't it! As for CPD! I would be interested to know just who is going to be paid to administrate it, as it is a full time job! I can understand your frustration about lack of interest - it appears to be endemic across the therapies business.

When consider the amount (probably in the 6 figures) of lay and professional practitioners involved in Reiki and only getting such small feedback, the RRWG obiliously have a publicity problem. And what makes them think that me (living in Cornwall) is going to travel hundreds of miles to one of the road shows to voice an opinion about Reiki. What planet are they living on?

By the time I heard about the road shows, it was either too late, or too far away.

Organising Reiki practitioners will be like herding cats!

As a multi-disclipined therapist, I'm all for VSR, but only if it is done properly, not just give a job to a semi-retired man-in-the-city or lady so-and-so.

Given this announcement earlier from the RRWG, does the group or it's survey have relevance anymore to anyone in the Reiki "mob

Following a meeting in November 07, The RRWG has now formally withdrawn from the Federal Working Group (now known as the Natural Healthcare Council) set up by the Princes Trust for Integrated Health. The Group is considering its options and the way forward in January 2008.
