Hi all

I wonder if anyone knows where one can purchase a rolling chair. I love giving Reiki treatments but sometimes, because of arthritis in my knee, I get very uncomfortable standing for long periods. 🙁 A rolling chair would be ideal but my searches aren't coming up with anything.

Mods - feel free to move if you think I would get more response on another forum. 🙂

RE: Rolling chairs

Is that like an office chair, with wheels? Or is it somehing specially for therapists? Sounds like a good idea.
I use a swiss ball, which works OK, but it's not quite a seamless transition from place to place.

Interesting post this , what do any of you use if you are mobile, can't take a huge chair out everywhere.

RE: Rolling chairs

I use a kneeler type chair on casters that i bought at Argos. It tucks under the massage table when not in use and is good for IHM treatments. Its not too heavy so i take it with me when i do demos etc

RE: Rolling chairs

Thanks for your replies.

I use a stool at the moment but only when working on the head, as I can't keep moving the stool around my massage table. I thought if I could find a stool on castors, it would need to be height adjustable, it would be ideal to move round the table. Oh well, I'll keep looking.

Hi Poppet,

Ellisons, the beauty supplies people, have stools with wheels and height adjistment. They might be a bit expensive. Ellisons' web site is and I think they do mail order.

We use a cheap office chair from Staples or Office World. But we don't cart it about. We use it in our home-based therapy room.

I hope you find the 'stool of your dreams'

Thanks muchly Paul, I'll take a look (and perhaps a second mortgage!) 😀 I only want it for my therapy room not for mobile purposes so I may look at an office chair instead - great idea, cheers. 🙂

RE: Rolling chairs

Just in case anyone is interested, I found just what I was looking for on Ebay, brand new and at a fraction of the price of Ellisons. Height adjustable stool on castors £50.74 including carriage and insurance, as opposed to £89.99 not including carriage! 😀

Well done, Poppet.

Fortunately (?) I live within about 10 miles of two of Ellisons outlets and so do not really have to worry about carriage - just getting there and finding somewhere to park[:@].

But, still a £ 25.00 'office' type chair from Staples does me.:D

Just popping in here in case anyone else is interested, found a folding stool in Lidl this week for £1.99 so if anyone else is portable, it's worth looking for. 😉 Oh and my Reiki couch came today from it's great because you can get your knees underneath easily.:)
