MS is a terrible disease, it attacks the Myelin that surrounds the nerves so the brain can't connect, which leads to muscle spasms, paralysis, voice problems and so on.
I came across MS Society by chance and volunteered to treat sufferers at Great House which is a home for disabled and MS sufferers. I began treating 4 people with MS, 2 were females under 30, and they were completely paralyzed and unable to communicate. Even though communication was difficult the results from the Reiki treatments were truly humbling. The strain from their faces completely disappeared, they looked relaxed and peaceful. I said to the staff that perhaps their parents would like to join us and they did. They too felt more relaxed, and Reiki gave them something which was so negative turn into positivity. They also did hands on healing, giving them the feeling that they were, at last, doing something other than just sitting beside the bed.

Another person I treated with Reiki was a guy called Rich, He epitomised the tall dark and handsome person and was very beautiful. He had been a 'Jack the lad' loved women and a rebel! He had been all over the world, leading an independent life. When this terrible disease struck out of the blue, he was just 30 years old. Ever the rebel he would take himself off in his wheelchair and go to the local pub, only to be brought back. He was desperate for independence, sadly denied him. I started treating him with Reiki which in the beginning he thought it was 'up with the fairies'! But the transition that began was remarkable, I saw him every week for 5 years, we became great friends. When his condition completely took over and he was unable to communicate and was paralyzed, I knew instinctively how he was feeling. He loved Reiki and for an hour he was at peace with himself, and for some time after, the staff said it was unbelievable.

The day came when I had a call from his mother to say that all medication had been withdrawn, and it was time to say goodbye, she wanted me to be there. It was a bit of a shock, but Reiki guided me, and I walked into the room. Then an amazing thing happened, his mother said I was there and he gave me a thumbs up! She was holding him and I was sharing Reiki when another remarkable thing happened, as he was dying his face was covered in green, turning to pink. His mother saw it and began to cry, Rich was completely at peace and was ready to go to the light. I stayed and we were surrounded by the energy and light, so moving and wonderful. Rich left us and I became overwhelmed with emotion, at the same time at peace, the experience was incredible and humbling. I miss him to this day.
