Hi Tina,

There are many different energies (frequencies?) out there. Some people will stick to just the one they are happy with and others prefer to have a range of energies to work with.
I myself have "Usui Reiki Level II" and "Gaia Now". I know Gussie and Malearaura may be able to help you here as they've got Kundalini Reiki. They've given me some "mini treatments" with it so that I could feel what the energy is like and I can tell you for me it was quite strong and harsh and I know that they say it's a very masculine energy, unlike Imara which is more of a feminine energy.

As Giles has said the kundalini energy flows much stronger than the more traditional reiki mainly due to the attunement processes which do a lot of work on your energy systems to allow it to pass this form of energy.

kundalini reiki was created as a healing modality so you get to work with it very strongly in no time at all where as traditional reiki is a path of self development/enlightenment and healing is more of a side effect of travelling that path but both modalities will enable you to heal, just in different ways

I agree with both comments here, it's an intensely masculine energy to me and very powerful. It's very hard to explain an energy, but it is much hotter and seems to radiate around the person channelling it, I find that I can feel this energy across a room when it is invoked by another person, whereas I find the Usui to be a far more discreet and subtle energy. I enjoy working with this energy. I do find thought that for many, the name alone will make them a little fearful cause they've read stories about people who have awakened Kundalini and had problems as a result (although this isn't the same as healing and being attuned to this energy) and from this I tend to ask people if they are ok with receiving it, specially when I can feel it kicking in (seems to know when they need it).

and thanks for your replies.
The reason i am asking is that i am being attuned on Mondy next week, and then friday the week after. i just wanted to hear another view. I have never experienced this before either so i am not sure on how different it feels.
Are you able to determine which of the energies you use during a treatment.

Sorry if my questions seem a bit dim... but i just would like to ask other peoples views...

You might find the attunement procedure a little uncomfortable compared to what you have already received but that is the nature of the energy but it is still enjoyable in a different way so just relax and enjoy it.

Yes you will be able to tell the difference between the energies and so will the people you use it on especially after level two, you can call them both in together or separately, as you set your intention it will happen

I have Kundalini and Paul is right that you might feel a little uncomfortable during the attunement process but as Paul says this is to do with the way the energies are awakened.

I chose a slightly different path in that I actually was attuned to Kundalini before Usui but we all walk our own paths and do what we feel is right and its turned out fine for me doing it this way.

The Kundalini energy is far more intense than Usui, if I work with the Kundalini than I tend to work hands off as this is more comfortable for the client.

I have been reading everyone's posts with interest, and have to say Kundalini reiki sounds great. Just one question though.

MA and Paul - why do you say that being attuned (to kundalini reiki) may be uncomfortable? In what way- Energetically?(I am having pictures of the student's hands being held in the prayer postition while the RM is twisting their arms inside out while the feet are being taken behind the head:D:D)

It's a very powerful energy and in the time just after the attunement some people may experience some discomfort.. it's the same with any attunement you never quite know how you'll be till it's done, it does shift a lot of garbage around and once the effect have dissipated you're left with something really unique and powerful.

Has to be said though.. the one attunement which left me feeling very lethargic and really not well was my Usui Master attunement, I was sick from the day I had it (like I was in some deep depression) until the moment I had my Imara attunement.. which was the reason I took the Master level attunement.. I obviously needed the Imara energy, I knew it was right for me.. it really balanced me, perhaps I didn't need the masters after all, who knows? I was just following procedure/ tradition.

Kundalini reiki has nothing to do with any kind of contortion btw, it's just very powerful in what it does..

We all have our own motivations for moving towards certain energies, I'm a strong believer in doing what is right for you.. just trust your intuition..

Everybody has Kundalini energy within them, which is stored/generated at the base chakra (right where the sun don't shine :D).
Periodically we have something called "Kundalini Rising" where this energy flows up the spine, through the body, to be released through the crown chakra. However in a lot of people, the Kundalini comes across energy blockages in the body and get's "stuck". This can cause various symptoms to appear in the individual depending on where the energy has become stuck. It can cause physical pains and illness as well as emotional problems.

There are certain exercises that can be done to help the flow and the release of Kundalini energy and also things like Yoga and Tai Chi (i.e. energy exercises) can help in this respect too.

I believe when you become attuned to Kundalini Reiki, there are several attunements which bit by bit not only open up the channels through which the K energy will flow, but cause the body to produce this Kundalini Rising effect. Depending on the health and energy wellbeing of the individual it is likely that until all the attunements are done and the body has had time to clear all the energy channels, they will experience discomfort caused by the K energy rising and coming across the blockages detailed above.
