How would you describe a Reiki share?

How do you like yours?

Reiki shares have been an integral part of my spiritual development and quite honestly I don't know where I'd have been today if it weren't for them. I met like-minded people, expanded my mind to new horizons, opened my heart to unconditional love, learned about various energy healing techniques that go with Reiki, learned cool tips to use when giving a treatment, and how to improve my self-healing.

I'm interested in others' point of view. Do you go to Reiki shares; and if so, what do you do at yours, and how have they benefited you? 🙂

I'm looking forward to others responses, I've not been to one yet.

I have not been to a reiki group, but with a group of people who are within the healing professions and work with Light, who are interested in spiritual matters and glad to share their ideas and help each other. I always came away feeling on a high 🙂 as the energy in our space lifted and felt so comfortable being able to be free to talk deeply about things which in everyday life I find is not possible.

I also belong to a group of nutritional therapists where we meet bi-monthly and share information, experiences and concerns. We can also ask advice from others if we have a case that is complex, when others may have had some experience that may be relevant. It is really helpful.

I am sure we'd all benefit from sharing ideas with those who are like-minded. The group doesn't want to be too big - 10 max - or interaction may become limited.

I have been to several reiki shares. One group starts with going round the group, saying our name and as little or much as we want to say, it could be my name is jane or it could be someone saying what their reasons for attending are, or what sort of week they have had, whatever they feel they want to say, it is always started with the person running the group saying that what goes on in the circle is confidential and so that helps people feel free to talk if they wish.

This group then gets into groups, dependent on numbers, say there are 20 of us we may do five tables, each with four people, one person recieves reiki, the other three give it, often one starts at the head, one at the hip area and one around the middle, it is totally quiet apart from some background music and we use reiki intuitively, going where we feel guided. It could only be 10 mins of reiki, maybe 15 mins each, the leader of the group keeps an eye on the time and lets the group know when to change round.

I can honestly say 10 mins of reiki with 3 people giving it to you is amazing, i always feel blown away by it and wish i could go more often and i always feel geat at the end. We meet for a final circle group, where people can talk or not as they wish and end with thanks to all. This group is well attended which shows how well it works. It also allows people from all backgrounds to come together with a common theme of reiki and advice can be given to anyone if they have any questions. It is a very supportive group.

The other group i have beeen to starts with the reiki master talking through a self healing treatment where we all self treat in a chair before we gwt together and treat each other.

It is great to see people from reiki1 through to reiki masters joining together and learning and benefitting so much from fantastic treatments. If you have never been to a reiki share i would really recommend it , it always makes me feel great.

When I have a Reiki share for my students, it is normally a mix of healing, question and answer session and an opportunity for students to share experiences. I find that it is helpful for students to be able to ask me questions that may have come up since their Reiki course, and the answers usually are helpful to everyone. The healing part of the share is always popular, giving and receiving Reiki is fantastic! To finish we tend to end up discussing spiritual issues.

My Reiki Share is open to anyone attuned to Reiki or non-attuned people who are interested in learning Reiki.

We start of with informal chat while people are arriving and there is opportunity for people to ask questions or give some news about their experiences recently or any interesting events coming up.

I then guide everyone through hatsurei ho, during which we recite the Reiki Principles and also receive Reiju from as many people who are able to give it (usually 3 or 4 Reiju each).

There is a short break for some refreshments.

We then split up into a couple of groups and take it in turns lying on the couch for 10-15min of Reiki from as many pairs of hands as are available.

We finish with a Reiki Mawashi (Reiki Circle) where we stand in a circle and either join hands or place our hands on the person's shoulders, or back in front of us and allow the Reiki to pass around the circle from person to person.

Then it is hugs all round and time for home!

🙂

Wow, I wish I could visit each one!

The first one for me was just me and some friends getting together - well, we became friends through meeting up for Reiki. Way back in 1999. I find it hard to believe that was over 10 years ago. I was very nervous and always unsure of whether I was "doing it right" :032:

Hi all ... and hi Colin - welcome 🙂

I think Reiki shares are one of the great things about Reiki - getting together, making new friends, sharing Reiki: what could be better?

My shares begin and end with Reiki Mawashi (Reiki Circle), with everyone taking turns on the table and treating. This lasts about two hours once a month and everyone goes away happy and smiling, however they felt when they turned up.

Oh, and generally there's time for tea and a chat somewhere in there 🙂

Im going to one in Paris, France and we pay about 5 pounds to the reiki master oganizing it...does that sound ok or wrong to you?

Sounds about right ... many RMs charge a nominal sum to cover such things as venue hire, refreshments and ... inevitably ... phone calls. If the share is held in their home or clinic, then obviously overheads would be less.

thanks a lot, I was wondering. I think we pay for the RM "organization" efforts (sorry, my English is slowly disintegrating due to staying in France) and some phone calls. It is held in her home so it doesnt cover venue hire ...nevertheless it is my favourite time of the week!

Hi

My Reiki share is in my home, so I don't charge for it. I do suggest, however, that those attending might like to bring some tea and/or biscuits to share ...

We have to pay for the room, so we divide the room cost between ourselves and the students, with the students paying up to £5 and we pick up the rest of the cost.

I'd like to get one started in my area - a number of people have asked me in the past if I know of one anywhere.

So how do you get started? Do you set an initial date, book a venue, advertise/send out invites and hope people turn up or arrange with people then find somewhere to hold it?

Blessings

Helen

I get a few available dates from the venue and email students the dates and advertise on my website (if it is an open share). Whichever date is the most popular I book with the venue. The only real problem is if people drop out at the last minute as I still have to pay for the room, so now I ask people to pay via PayPal in advance to confirm the room.
