I do hope that some of you can help me feel slightly less lost!
[:o]

Following on from my previous post I have been looking into obtaining insurance (I have my levels 1 & 2) and have looked through old HP postings. I didn't want to have to spend an enormous amount as I am going to be using Reiki in a voluntary capacity & therefore casual basis, rather than professionally and frequently, at this moment in time.
I do however need to have cover for both human AND animal Reiki.

HPAI sounded vgood but alas none of the website links work [&:] Are they still going & what is the best way to get more info about joining them??
IPTI also sounded good until I read that you have to have specified 'recognised' qualifications to join them.
Has anybody got any recommendations for me??
SMG has been recommended but is more than the above places £ wise.

My other concern is whether it is worth me investing my £'s in the near future into a becoming a professional practitioner (which in all honesty I REALLY would luv to do) if the new regulations/laws (whenever they decide what they are doing!) come into fruitition. I'm worried that they could stop me practising and therefore shut down a business if I don't fit their specific criteria - especially as although I had an in-person attunement for my levels, I completed coursework and did case studies over a period of time rather than having in-person teaching! Does this mean I could have totally re-do both levels at some point??! [&o]
Has anybody else got the same concerns?

Sorry for rambling but any help/advice/info would REALLY help!

*I send Reiki blessings to those who have been affected by the travesty in London today - God bless u* xx

I am with SMG, I have never had to claim so I couldn't really tell you what they are like, but they do cover you for a LOT of things, including your property and well a lot. The don't have many exceptions either which is good. I also have the same problem of not having the 'right' qualifications. It will be a long time before the laws change so I think you have time to get with SMG and save enough money to join an organisation. Thats what I am doing anyway. I first got with SMG, then after a few clients I joined The healing Foundation which has joined me with the British Complementary Medcine Association. I don't think it really matters what organisation your with as long as you abide by certain ethics which we all do anyway, you should be fine. Insurance, I think is a must, some organisations do insurance to but if you are insured yourself you don't need to worry about meeting the organisations criteria before you qualify for their insurance. SMG only require that you have at least a basic qualification in your chosen practice and they don't specify which qualifications you should have.

As long as you are insured and you have qualifications/knowledge/experience, you are probably fine going it alone. If you want to get professional qualifications, then save your pennies and go for it - I personally cannot afford it so I learn what I can when I can whenever I can, which is part of the reason I joined this forum. I buy tons of books and read and practice and that is how I learn - a piece of paper doesn't really say anything about who you are or what you are really capable of. Experience IMO is the best form of education.

Hope you feel better about the situation soon 😉
