RE: Healing Fees

Hi Flower,
This is always a diificult topic I've alwys had a problem with charging!!

I did a Local Enterprise Agency course on starting up a business which was a real eye-opener! But I was told that my time was just as valuable as a plumber etc. and put that way made it easier for me to charge. I don't charge for the Reiki, only for the time it takes.
I charge £25 for 1 1/2-2 hour Consultation which includes 20 mins of Reiki and then £20 for every session after (which may take 1-11/2 hours). Hope this helps

RE: Healing Fees

Hi, Flower.

We charge the same as Reikiangel.

But it does depend on where you have your healing practice. We practice from home but, if you have to practice in a formal clinic you will have to cover the cost of the hire of the room or whatever fees the clinic charges you for working there. They might allow you a free room. In this regard there are some healers in our area who charge £ 35.00 an hour.

I hope this helps.

Hi Flower

I charge £6 for the consultation and then £30 per hour treatment, if it was not for getting the informed consent form signed I would not bother with a consultation for healing as it is not necessary as there are no contraindications and you can only alter what is alterable in that moment of time regardless of what they have come for 🙂

RE: Healing Fees

Hi All

Thank you for your thoughts.. now another ?... I do understand that a lot of our ills or dis-ease is metaphysical.. and I have yet a lot to learn about this etc... now when you talk of the assessment etc.. as when I had my reiki was not taught about doing things like that, what does this entail, I know it would be why they are 'here'. are they on medication... maybe would do they expect from the treatment... sorry to sound thick... but could anyone give me any tips, to make matters worse I am not a people person lol.. and find it hard to be assertive.. or get things over so to speak

RE: Healing Fees

Hi Flower,

I AM surprised that you weren't taught the basics of treating members of the public.

The Assessment or Consultation, performed at the client's very first appointment, is a lifestyle questionnaire, filled by the Therapsist asking questions of the Client, which serves to relax the client (because they are talking about themselves), shows interest in them by the Therapist and allows the Therapist to establish if there are any contraindications to treatment and whether the client's doctor's consent to treatment should be obtained. At the end of which the Client signs (and sometimes the Therapist, too) a form consenting to the treatment.

As Paul Crick says it's a bit over the top for Reiki healing but it does give the air of professionalism and covers the Therapist for insurance purposes in the unlikely event of any possible litigation following treatment.

Having a 'standard' form means that you do not have to remember the questions and always ask the same ones. Most of us have our own form of questionnaire and just ask the questions in a very informal manner. There is no need to be assertive.

Hi Paul, ive just dug this post up using a search and wanted to ask you guys please what health questions would you ask the client on your consultation forms. apart from the obvious , pregnancy ? as we all know Reiki cannot do harm, so why ask questions in the first place.

RE: Healing Fees

I was interested to read that someone else didn't have any input re assesment from their Reiki training. I have had to use my own initiative and use some ideas from my aromatherapy training. I suppose some people think that there is no need to find out anything as Reiki will not harm and does its own thing so to speak! However I agree with you, Paul, it helps to build up a relationship and makes the client feel valued.
