RE: Good Books
Hello ep915
Welcome to HP and the Reiki forum.
My reply might sound like a lazy cop-out but it isn't really. It's just that there are as many books on the market about Reiki as there are different opinions on the subject, therefore I hesitate to recommend.
I've just had a quick look on amazon.co.uk and did a search for Books, then Reiki. Top of the list was Diane Stein's Essential Reiki, which is a controversial book, then The Spirit of Reiki, which I have not yet read, but which got good reviews when published a year or two ago.
If you go to my website, link in my signature below, then click on Resources, you will find several links to extensive Reiki websites. Have a look at Taggart King's site - Reiki Evolution - he is a member of HP, and provides a lot of very interesting information, both on his site and in this forum.
Happy hunting, and best wishes,
Holistic
RE: Good Books
Dear EP915,
I am just reading Reiki, the essential guide to the ancient healing art by Chris and Penny Parkes ( Vermilion). It covers lots of useful info and is more comprehensive than other books I have read on the subject and I find it very readable. Hope this helps!
RE: Good Books
To be honest, the books I have read on Reiki are based mostly on one person's experience and opinions, and as said before there are plenty of those so it's difficult to know which book would be of most use to you. It's like when I got interested in Feng Shui - I read one book and I became knowledgeable about it, I read a second book and I was puzzled, and after the third book I was totally confused!
This Reiki Forum is as good a place - if not better - to find out about Reiki. There are a lot of different ideas and points of view here and you can ask questions, too. I wish I could have done that with my Feng Shui books!

RE: Good Books
Hi all,
All of the books mentioned above are very good - but the best book I have read abour Reiki is The Reiki Sourcebook by Frans and Bronwen Stiene. Published in 2003 it gives details of many of the different types of Reiki together with Takata's Story and the True Story of Reiki.
If, however, a very simple book with wonderful photographic illustrations is required, then Reiki Healing by Carmen Fernandez is my recommendation.
Both are available on Amazon.
Happy reading!

RE: Good Books
Hello,
I find Frank Arjava Petter's books very inspiring.
Paul, thanks for giving your opinion on The Reiki Sourcebook. I was wondering about it. Now I am seriously thinking of buying it!
