Hi

I am new on the forum and would be very grateful for any replies. Having recently completed Reiki I and II, I am looking to buy a portable therapy bed but am completely baffled by the choice of widths available. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on whether a 24" width would be perfectly adequate for Reiki treatments for most people or would a 26" width or more be a better option. Please help!!

Thanks

Sandra

People come in all different shapes and sizes, so bearing this in mind a 26 inch couch will give much more flexibility and allow larger clients to feel a lot more comfortable. 26 inch would always then be my personal preference.

Thanks for the reply June. That's kinda what I was thinking, about whether a larger client would be more comfortable on a wider bed. The only drawback would be that a wider portable bed would be heavier but I have seen a wider bed online that has wheels on the bottom of the case which would be handy especially as I don't have a car.

I must say that i am not a big person, being 5'3" and under 8stone...even so i prefer the wider couches..niot nice to feel perched.

I went to a salon once where the couches were really quite narrow..admittedly i was in no danger of falling off it, but my own couch is much wider and one feels much more comfy on there. So i can imagine that for someone a bit bigger than me, a small and narrow couch would be horid.

I think my bed is 24 inch wide but i also bought arm rests as I find that no one person is able to lie on their back without their arms falling off the side - hence the rests which gives that extra space and support

I got my bed from [link= http://www.bodycraftdirect.co.uk ]Body Crafts[/link]

Thanks. This has given me something to go on. I just couldn't make my mind up and was scared of making an expensive mistake.

Thanks for your reply Maria. Does your bed have metal legs or wooden?

Hi

Clients of mine have told me they feel much more relaxed and secure on my 26" bed. It's really not much heavier than a narrower one, and is more comfortable for me to practice on, too.

It's worth the investment.
