Hello people

Well I have had my first Reiki session done to me and I don't know how I feel about it. I am a young woman and I was nervous because I was reiki'd by an attractive male who I did not know.

He said that experiences have led him into Reiki such as NDE and clairvoyancy, so he has a gift already basically. He warned me off pursuing Reiki courses as many people are getting involved with bad things without realising it. He was referring to possessions due to low energy and things. He scared me a little! He said it takes Tibetan Monks 60 years of meditation before their Master will consider attunement and that he works with guides who tell him where to place his hands.

I was scared in case he molested me and then blamed his spirit guides! Thankfully, he just placed his hands on the sides of my head and then my shoulders for the whole session. I didnt see anything or experience anything odd besides the occasional pain or twitch.

Afterwards, he went on about me being like an energy sponge and that i should turn bad experiences into positive ones. He then took my number and said he would ring me with an appointment with some Reiki healer woman miles away from where I live. I wasn't sure whether this is all OK to trust and now I feel worried I am getting into something I am not ready for.

I told my mum who looked concerned and is very sceptical about Reiki as a friend of hers is now a Master and talks about nothing else, always trying to push it onto people.

I was hoping for a wonderful experience but I just didnt get one. He didnt give much away other than to see this old woman and then go back to him for another session. Do you think I am ill or something? He mentioned detecting cancer in a previous patient and not telling her.

Why do I question everything so deeply? And will I experience anything in the aftermath of the session? He said he had opened up my chakras.

RE: Confused following my Reiki treatment

Wow - sounds like it was a strange experience for you.

Reiki should always be sent for the receivers highest good, and that way it goes where it is needed.

Why don't you maybe book yourself a session with the friend of your Mum's and see what you think of it.

Not all reiki healers use spirits. I was mainly taught to use the set hand positions and the reiki will flow where needed. However, I have also been told to use your own intuition and go where is needed. Although if it was client I didn't know I would probably do all the positions - as I was also told people worry they have a problem if you concentrate in one area!

I wonder if the person you went to see was maybe not the right one for you which is why you felt uneasy?

Hope that helps

Ax

RE: Confused following my Reiki treatment

Hi Abi

Basically everyone experience different things during a treatment and healing works on all levels 🙂

It sounds like you have something that needs addressing and you have more than likely scared the practitioner more than he scared you, it is quite possible that he is sending you to see someone who can sort out this problem without to much discomfort to you as you may receive it better from a female 🙂

Can't say I agree with his prognoses of people getting possessed during Reiki training as all the attunements do is re-establish your consciousness with your higher self and link you to some of the facets of the energy.

At the end of the day this has to be your decision and you need to feel comfortable with what ever you decide to do about it, please try and relax a little and trust your instincts 🙂
