Have post this on another site as well so appologies if you have read this before but am really hoping for as much feedback as I can get as little concerned.
I did Reiki 2 a few weeks back and have been doing case studies since. Up and till recently I havent had anything to unusual / concering but now my last three clients have said that although they are not cold during the treatment their hands feet and in one case nose are freezing - and they are freezing to the touch too!
Any ideas why ? is it something I could be inadvertantly (sorry for spelling) causing ?
My last case study also felt odd in that when I scanned at the end the energy under my hand was really shaky, is there a connection ?

This is quite a common situation.
I have found that sometimes clients will sense the Reiki energy as heat, sometimes as cold, sometimes as tingling and many other sensations. My opinion on this is that the energy will respond to whatever the client needs.
I don't think you are doing anything wrong.
Many of my clients feel different sensations within the same session. One last week said she felt as though it was really hot on her back, then it felt as though she was having a million electric shocks. Then she said shortly after, she felt freezing and felt a cold breeze.
I think the important thing is to reassure the client that what they are feeling is entirely normal and natural, and part of the Reiki healing process. This will hopefully enable them to relax more and stop any potential panicking.

There is a possibility that you are a bit short of energy or unbalanced yourself, if this is the case you mighthave inadvertently reversed the flow from them to you, this gives a cold feeling to the person as they are being drained instead of charged.
Can I suggest you get someone to scan your energy matrix and make sure all your energy channels and chakras are flowing correctly before you try and treat anyone else.

I've always found that if an area is cold it may indicate a blockage. But it could always be something as simple as they may have achieved a deeper sense of relaxation and if that is the case the body temperature can sometimes drop.If that is the case thenthis would affect the extremeties first i.e. the hands and feet.
I wouldn't try to read intoit too much. Just let the reiki do what it needs to do as it is only going to go where it's needed just make sure you have a blanket handy.
As far as the scanning is concerned this is normal but you'll probably find it better to scan at the
beginningof a treatment.
What your doing at the end of the treatment sounds more like your smoothing out the aura which is a good way to finish the treatments.
As far as your energy levels are concerned the reiki gives you a treatment as well but do make sure you are grounded and don't try to force the energy to go to any particular area as the area that seems to be imbalanced is not alwayswere the direct problem may be so, just let the energy flow and trust in the the divine source.

Hi RL - I'd keep blankets handy too - I also like to work with colour and have 2 blankets to hand during a treatment (both light in weight - one blue and one an orangey/red colour) - if someone tends to get too hot during a treatment I use the blue (leaving their feet free), if someone gets too cold I use the red. Often I just drape the red over their feet - cos if those are warm the rest of the body generally stays that way too.
Another possibility is simply that Spirit is present during these sessions - could be your Guide/Guides or else some well intentioned deceased relative coming to help out! If this makes sense to you, ask them to step back a bit to give you a bit more room and to keep the client warmer. Generally their presence will make the atmosphere colder - and so you should feel it too - but with all that Reiki energy passing through you - you'll have an internal heater going so may not pick up on it yourself!

Thank you all so much for your replies, I'm so pleased you all took the time :)and thank you for your reassurances too 
I like the idea of scanning at the begining of the treatment, funny but now you mention it it does seem sensible 
I'm hoping no energy reversal was going on! I do self treat regularly (every night without fail) and have regular Reiki shares so I hope that I shouldnt be too out of balance but having only done Reiki II recently who knows, maybee the energy is still settling down ?
My RM did tell us early on that energy can burn up (hot) or release off (cold) but I guess I just didnt count on it being freezing! lol
I do alot of grounding and always before a treatment but I love the blanket idea, I always lay towels over them just for comfort / security but the colour blankets too hand sounds like a lovely touch x thank you for sharing that x
My RM had also mentioned the guides thing as well so I think before I begin when I ask for their help I might mention it to them just to be sure.
