Hi

I am not sure where this should go, if needs to be moved, pls do..

Does anyone know what it means when a chakra is over active? or wide open? and what could be the affects on mind body emotions etc.. and the same question for under active chakras?

When a chakra is blocked - my personal thoughts would be, illness of some kind? but get confused with over and under.. etc

Many thanks in advanced

RE: Chakra Energy

I think I probably know very little more than you about this. But from what I've read over-active chakras take on too much energy from external sources, and drain that of the chakras either side. Under active ones mean that the energy is not flowing through the chakra system as well and can prevent enough from reaching the chakras on either side. This might be nonsense, so I would get advice form others who know, but that is my, probably incorrect, understanding.

Hi Melissa

thank u for feed back. What you say, seems to make sense. I did go on line and search but although most say the same thing, none have mentioned what you feel, and what u feel seems to hit a note/gel with me.

Thanks again

RE: Chakra Energy

Hi Flower, firstly if a chakra is blocked or closed it does not necessarilymean that the person is ill. It could be that they are having problems with realtionship/work etc here is a list of what each chakra is about, this might help you. Ideally it would be good to have all chakras balanced and at times we need to work on the area that has the problem for them to get balanced, do you understand?

1 - Root chakra
The Root chakra is about being physically there and feeling at home in situations. If it is open, you feel grounded, stable and secure. You don't unnecessarily distrust people. You feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body. You feel you have sufficient territory. If you tend to be fearful or nervous, your Root chakra is probably under-active. You'd easily feel unwelcome.
If this chakra is over-active, you may be very materialistic and greedy. You're probably obsessed with being secure and resist change.

2 - Sacral chakra
The Sacral chakra is about feeling and sexuality. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively. You have no problems dealing with your sexuality.
If you tend to be stiff and unemotional or have a "poker face," the Sacral chakra is under-active. You're not very open to people.
If this chakra is over-active, you tend to be emotional all the time. You'll feel emotionally attached to people and you can be very sexual.

3 - Navel chakra
The Navel chakra is about asserting yourself in a group. When it is open, you feel in control and you have sufficient self esteem.
When the Navel chakra is under-active, you tend to be passive and indecisive. You're probably timid and don't get what you want.
If this chakra is over-active, you are domineering and probably even aggressive.

4 - Heart chakra
The Heart chakra is about love, kindness and affection. When it is open, you are compassionate and friendly, and you work at harmonious relationships.
When your Heart chakra is under-active, you are cold and distant.
If this chakra is over-active, you are suffocating people with your love and your love probably has quite selfish reasons.

5 - Throat chakra
The Throat chakra is about self-expression and talking. When it is open, you have no problems expressing yourself, and you might be doing so as an artist.
When this chakra is under-active, you tend not to speak much, and you probably are introverted and shy. Not speaking the truth may block this chakra.
If this chakra is over-active, you tend to speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a distance. You're a bad listener if this is the case.

6 - Third Eye chakra
The Third Eye chakra is about insight and visualization. When it is open, you have a good intuition. You may tend to fantasize.
If it is under-active, you're not very good at thinking for yourself, and you may tend to rely on authorities. You may be rigid in your thinking, relying on beliefs too much. You might even get confused easily.
If this chakra is over-active, you may live in a world of fantasy too much. In excessive cases halucinations are possible.

7 - Crown chakra
The Crown chakra is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.
If it is under-active, you're not very aware of spiritu

RE: Chakra Energy

Hi Flower, firstly if a chakra is blocked or closed it does not necessarilymean that the person is ill.

You chakras are open all of the time, the level of opening is dependant on many things. If your chakras were closed then for want of a better word you would be "Dead". When you are working with chakras the term closed refers to their normal balanced position.

I have taken this fromthe energy anatomy course that I teach.
"We know that each Chakra can be stimulated by a range of therapies including: Healing, Colour Healing, Crystal Healing, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. The Chakra colours are of the rainbow, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. The size and brightness of the wheels vary with individual development, physical condition, energy levels, disease, or stress.

If the charkas are out of balance, or if the energies are blocked, the basic life force will be slowed down. We need to understand that Charkas are energy centres, regulating the flow of energy throughout our body. The correct functioning and balancing of the charkas reflects in our health and well being.

These energy centres are also related to the organs of the body where they are positioned, and are associated positively or negatively with their healthy function. Balancing the chakras is an important task for the therapist who wants to work on the levels of the psyche and spirituality in a client because it is at this level that a deep healing can take place.

The essential thing is to be able to tune into your client's energy system. Your client may feel listless, tired, out of sorts, or depressed. Not only will physical bodily functions be affected and diseases manifest, but the mind may also be affected by negative attitudes. A constant balance between the chakras will promote health and a sense of well being.

As already mentioned, any imbalances within any chakra may have profound effects upon either our physical or emotional bodies. An experienced therapist can by observation, intuition, dowsing or scanning sense which of the chakras are out of balance and by careful use of the correct oil, they can help adjust the chakras thus restoring the bodies equilibrium. Begin with the root chakra and move up through to the crown chakra.

Ifit is of use to youI can email you the aura and chakra section of the course. Too much to add here.
Just let me have your email address and I will send it.

Hi Flower,
A really good book is [link= http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hands-Light-Healing-Through-Energy/dp/0553345397/ref=sr_1_1/203-7763835-3397521?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180536188&sr=1-1 ]Hands of Light[/link] by Barbara Brennan, she explains a lot about the chakras and what happens when they are under/over active, etc.

RE: Chakra Energy

Hi flower,
Working with a chakra is important as you are bridging the path that u are undertaking I myself try to work on a daily balancing which is hard sometimes not knowing what form of diversity I will or will not undertake. I mostly work with the heart chakra as it relates to the emotions this will bring about a balancing to the etheric body this can sometimes be good not to say that I do not work with the others as spirit usally provides insights expecially if I am feeling different forms of impressions...Working with colors is good as this can bring about balancing to the natural phase of the Chakras creative expression is shown through balanced chakra, but also looking to the different forms of difficulties that you experiance can show the paths of the imbalances that you are feeling....Suggesting working on physical or spirtiual can also create a balance thru different forms of meditative practices for chakra balance....

Isnt it amazing that much of the information does not talk about the feelings which are so closely tied with each chakra.

RE: Chakra Energy

I am in the process of writing a book. I do plan on putting up some preview images of the chakra system on my new site, so people can follow the progress of our book and manual. What I find intersting is the strong relationship of our chakra system to that of the universe. I plan to have some info up next week.

[color="#9900cc"]Simple reply:

All chakras should be equally balanced, Over active chakras will unbalance your system and can also cause illness.

Chakras grow when they take in energy this is fine as long as ALL of your chakras are the same size. Giving too much energy to one chakra will slow the others down, it almost drains the force from the rest.

Hope this helps its a simple as I can get.
