Dear Maria
There have been many threads on these forums the last couple of years on the Reiki Regulations would it be possilble to have a sticky with all the threads listed, this then gives a broad spectrum of views and not just those posting at the time. Then those that are interested can view and if they wish to start a specific thread on a specific issue this could then be added to the sticky thread.

Good Morning[sm=wave.gif]
In my post #45 in the Who Cares What Dr Usui Said thread
I gave the result of my search for NOS in Reiki, plus the one in General Discussions on Spiritual Freedom in the UK:
Laura.
EDIT: Oops ... I'd forgotten the second link.
See also post #14 below where I give again the link to NOS search from the Dr Usui thread.

Thanks Laura

Here's another one
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Hi Maria
I came across this thread last night, subject "Getting a straight answer" ... I thought perhaps it might be one to add to the list, if it's not already included.
It contains correspondence between HP members and the chair of the UKRF, also with Mari Stevenson, acting chair of RRWG, whose other contributions can be found via her profile, as she is also a member of HP, 3291m (but it seems not to want to convert to a link here, though it works just fine in the Getting a straight answer thread!)
Also Taggart's correspondence with The Reiki Association and the UKRF.
Laura.
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Hi Kim/ Holistic
I'm just a bit tied up with 2 poorly children at the moment so i'll get back to this when I can.:)
Hugs Maria xxx
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
There's absolutely no rush or pressure, Maria ... I've just put them here for posterity for now! People can always follow the links or do a search in the meantime if they want to.
I've also just amended my post #4 above with a link I'd forgotten.
Hope the children are better soon.
Laura.
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Dear Maria
Love, light and healing for the children praying they get better soon.
Dear Holstic
Grand job ! They are excellent threads and hopefully never to be removed from these forums as we lost a lot of good threads when the forums changed over as well.
Love beyond measure

RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Do we have this one?
NOS
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Probably, since it begins with NOS ... perhaps you'd like to check. Hang on while I post the one I'm just typing!
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Thank you, Kim. I'm sure we'll have this covered in no time if everyone puts possible new links into this thread.
I did just notice though that the one you gave in your post #7, ending in "core curriculum" is already in the long list I gave a link to in the Dr Usui thread*, it's the one headed "Draft National Occupational Standards Reiki Consultation" and started by Taggart King on 21 October 2004. Also that your link is to page 2.
*Here's the link again to my search on NOS copied from the Dr Usui thread
Why didn't I do that in the first place, doh!
Maria, I hope that's OK?:)
Laura.
EDIT: Note to Kim
Yes, it's in that list already. Now that the link is given here, perhaps you could check possible new finds against the NOS list, to avoid duplication?

RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Kim, both the links you've just given are already in the list - please check with the long link I gave above.
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Ok best I leave it to you then cos you know which ones you have already tracked.
There are more I think
I think it would be good to have the thread name and poster name helps us to identify the threads. Also for the eventual list to be date order so that people can see the progression of events.

RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Ok best I leave it to you then cos you know which ones you have already tracked.
While I appreciate your faith in me and thank you, Kim, I'm not sure this is quite appropriate, since I am not the moderator of this forum, and certainly have no wish to tread on anyone's toes though I'm always willing to help if I can. Additionally, I'm sorry but I really don't have the time to keep posting amendments. As I said above to Maria, there is no rush and I'm just posting links to threads as I come across them, and I'm sure she will get to this as her time permits. Also that your addditions of thread titles etc will be found useful.
In the meantime, I think you need have little fear of threads going "missing". I recently raised a query in Comments and Suggestions on the topic of "old threads":
which was a bit convoluted in itself but included several reassurances from Mods and Admins that old threads of value would be retained.
I do hope this helps clarify, and puts your mind at rest somewhat.
Laura.
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Well you two are doing such a good job I'll leave this thread as it is Maybe Kim can change the title of her first post. to indicate what its about?
Hugs Maria xxx
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
In the light of my post above, Maria, I'm not sure I understand your reply. Could you please clarify?
Laura.
RE: For Crystal Moonchild
It just means Laura that you & KIim are going great guns finding the links thats all

RE: For Crystal Moonchild
Dear Maria I have stopped so it is over to you, I have other things I must get on with.
Dear Holistic well a lot of great threads on these issues have been deleted there does not appear to be anything prior to 2004.
Love beyond measure
Kim xx
Dear Kim,
I also have little spare time to further devote to this, but you say you can find nothing prior to 2004. Did you use Search? They show up there, from October 2003 only of course, because of the changover to the new forum. They will not show up if you just scroll down within the forums because they are over one year old. Unfortunately, though, as well as NOS, Search also picked up on lower case nos as in "nose" or "nostalgia", but there aren't too many of those
From the list of key words you gave earlier:
NOS
Reiki Regulations
RRWG
UK Reiki Fed
Occupational Standards
Core Curriculum
I think only "UK Reiki Federation" warrants a separate search.
I've also changed the title of this post in line with yours at the top, so it should now continue as that.
Maria, if I find anything else on my travels that you might perhaps want to include I will, of course, drop it in here.:)
Laura.
RE: All threads on regulations/NOS/RRWG etc
Andy and Dawn (haven't seen them around here for a while!) seem to be quite involved in the NOS process and seem to keep a page on their website updated with their latest take on things...

RE: All threads on regulations/NOS/RRWG etc
Thanks for posting this link, Giles. I had a good read of the updated page, and IMO this initially gives an excellent factual account of what the Reiki Regulatory Working Group (RRWG) is all about ... why and how it was set up, and its aims are stated.
Also covered are the National Occupational Standards (NOS) ... I'm putting these somewhat wordy titles in full for the benefit of newer members, BTW. Initially this is again a factual account of meetings and outcomes, but then continues with the personal viewpoints of the site owner, including expression of disappointment at the standards agreed, which of course she is perfectly entitled to do, as it's her website!
However, I do feel it is important for anyone reading the page to draw the distinction between a useful resource as a "diary" of how this whole regulation thing is progressing, and opinions of the site owner which all may not necessarily share.
Laura.
RE: All threads on regulations/NOS/RRWG etc
Giles
can you remind me of the login name(s) which Andy & Dawn use on here, so I don't miss them if online. They are practically neighbours.
cheers! Doq xxx
RE: All threads on regulations/NOS/RRWG etc
Doq, they were dreamspirit, but no longer frequent HP apparently. Have PM'd you.
RE: All threads on regulations/NOS/RRWG etc
I'm just giving this one a "leg-up" back to the top, as there is currently discussion about Reiki in the NHS.
Laura.
