What do you wear when you are giving treatments?
Some of the clothing I've seen being sold for therapists looksboth unflattering and uncomfortable.

RE: What do you wear?
Hi Footsie
We didn't have a uniform where I trained, and I'm not much of a one for uniforms anyway - they make me feel clinical when I'm not. You are right about many of them being unflattering! I have a tunic I bought from the AoR and it isn't too bad. I wheel it out for public appearances 😉
When I'm giving treatments at home I wear smart casual trousers ie not jeans or combats, and a smart casual top. Sometimes I'll do the polo shirt and tracksuit bottoms 'sporty' look if I'm doing a fete or something like that.
RE: What do you wear?
Hi Footsie,
I like to look smart when i am treating clients as i think it looks more professional. Most of my clients are professionals anyway, so they kind of expect it. I wear plain black trousers and a black mandarin style tunic. I also wear an AOR badge on the lapel. The tunic is actually really comfortable and looks very professional. I bough it from Moville clothing which is an Irish company. Can't remember how much i paid, but i know it was really reasonable and it washes really well.
But, at the end of the day, i don't really think it matters what you wear, as long as you look smart and professional.
Hope this helps.

I don't wear whites anymore, they look too clinical in my opinion. I had some t-shirts made specially with the company logo on and contact details and I use them now as my uniform. It's great if you doa show cause people can see who you are, plus people sometimes ask when you're out and about what you do.. so there's the chance of picking up clients that way too. I personally feel more relaxed in a t-shirt and a pair of smart black trousers.. I also wear some black trainers which are ideal for working in.

Ditto Siobahn, The white uniforms soon succumb to unremoveable tea or blackcurrant jam stains ;). I tend to try to look more 'official', ie white t shirt + aor badge when doing new home visits. Reassuring for elderly folk.
My regulars are more relaxed and forget you are a therapist when out of uniform.
RE: What do you wear?
I like to feel comfortable and look reasonably presentable - I still like to wear white because of its reflective nature - I dont want to soak up all the energy from the feet. Still like black trousers and white teeshirt - it feels comfortable and looks ok.
