RE: VTCT Reflexology?????
Hi Rainbow girl.
I completed VTCT in reflexology last year.
Since I have studied ITEC complimentary therapies at Bath city college.
From my view the ITEC was harder due to the intense A & P.
Although my teacher was much better and orgainised on my VTCT.
I enjoyed the classes more on VTCT and the course work was easier and therefore
a good introduction.
I feel a lot depends on the teacher.
If I remember correctly I had to do 6 case studies at home but only 2 treatments.
Also had case studies at the college. Very straight forward paperwork though. Plus they provide the consultation forms etc.
Great place to start in my view.
Hope this helps, do let me know if you need any more info.
RE: VTCT Reflexology?????
hi,
i did a vtct holistic diploma (reflexology was part of this)
during this course we also had the chance to take IFR qualification at the end of the year. the only difference was the level of a&p and the number of case studies we had to do.
i think the difference between all the different reflexology organisations is really just the level of a&p and the number of case studies required.
i think whatever course you do, if you are really interested you will put in the extra work yourself anyway, so really what you choose will only depend on your budget, on how much you want to spend on it, and most importantly it depends on the teacher.
a good teacher should be not only knowledgable but also inspiring.
so try to choose a course after personal recommendation.don't be afraid to actually go into the school and ask current students on what they think about their teacher.
good luck

RE: VTCT Reflexology?????
Hello, Thank you for your reply's.
Is the course content good? Ive done VTCT Swedish Massage and will be honest had mixed feelings about the content of this course.
How isreflex assessed? With the VTCT courses i have already done they have been ongoing assessment andportfolio based. Is the reflex course assessed in the same way?
Thanksagain for all your comments, Claire Xxx
RE: VTCT Reflexology?????
I completed a VTCT reflexology diploma and a&p certificate this year and all I can say is don't underestimate the amount of work/home study there will be. We had to complete a minimum of 40 treatments for our case studies and be assessed on 4 treatments within the salon/clinic.
We also had to learn and perform a hand reflexology treatment, have a good understanding of auricular reflexology and complete an assignment on other forms of reflexology including vertical, gentle touch and vacu -flex.
However I do feel glad that we went into so much depth but I still feel like I'm learning all the time:)
Good luck with it all
