Once identified I may be happy to swap a few so your help could be valuable to yourself! I've gone through Judy Halls whole crystal bible and still can't identify these crystals, I realise most will be inexpensive and common but it's bugging me just not knowing what they are! If you could perhaps say what row and then the number 1-3 I would be very happy, if not just describe the crystal, many thanks!

Hi,
It's really hard to see the colours on the computer but I think the top right may be a unakite jasper. Middle left looks like a calcite and bottom right an aventurine. Possibly a hematite top left. But as I say it's very hard to tell on a screen.
Hope that helps,
Christina

Hi and welcome to HP 🙂

There are far better books than the CB soe of the pictures in there make it very hard to identify crystals and some are actually wrong lol.

The raw unploished crystals are very hard to identify unless they can be seen and held and turned over and lookaed at from all angles. Do you know any of them?

for instance numbering from 1 top left to 9 bottom right.

1) possibly some kind of iron ore.
2) possibly some kind of granite or feldspar mix
3) Unakite
4) Anything from Aquamarine to Calcite
5) Carnelian or Chalcedony or polished Amber Quartz
6) Rhodonite
7) Oceanic or Orbicular Jasper
8) possibly Black Tourmaline
9) possibly Bloodstone, Jade, not sure its aventurine as it doesen't appear to have flashes or specks in it?

Hi,

Here are my suggestions for some of these. As mentioned, it's hard to have a good look from a photo.

1 - Purpurite (maybe, if it has purplish tinges)
2 - ? maybe a garnet
3 - Unakite
4 - Aquamarine or Amazonite
5 - Carnelian
6 - ?
7 - Ocean / orbicular jasper
8 - Petrified wood (maybe)
9 - Aventurine (maybe)

Enjoy the search!

You might find a geology book helps more the the CB. There'll be more on crystal structure and hardness, for example.
