hello all crystal lovers,
Ive come to ask you if anyone has heard of the Academy of Crystal and Natural Healing in Aberdeenshire?
Second, what does a crystal healing course give you, teach you that you could not learn on your own, meditating with crystals and maybe taking a short course in geology/gemnology?
I am very drawn to crystals but am starting to wonder whether a crystal healing training is what I want. Of course, working with crystals to try and help people is a good reason enough in itself....
You may advice me to have a session done to me to decide. I have, years ago. and I remember that I felt I had more communication with crystals at home than with the 5 small tumbled stones the therapist laid around me. I felt and still feel that crystals is more for the therapist: to improve the good energy flowing in...what do you think?
thanks a lot.
I haven't heard of the trainer that you are talking about but I can assure you that a crystal healing session is far more than placing 5 stones on you.
Crystal therapy is broad, people have their own ways of working with them, I personally do crystal healing where I use smokey quartz and clear quartz wands to remove and replace energy then check the chakras. I also use crystals in Indian head massage if it warrants it and combine reiki and crystals too.
I also use crystals in hands on therapy and do a full body massage with rose quartz and rose oil, then I do a holistic facial massage with crystals and wands and am working on a jade rejuvenation treatment at the moment.
I certainly wouldn't have done all of this without doing a course first, and the rest is reading, watching, trying, feeling and instinctive.
Good luck with your search and hope you find what you are looking for.
thanks Maychang,
the crystal healing treatment I had was with a trainee therapist on a VTCT course years ago. and I remember the pendulum checking of the chakkras and some stones placed around me and that s all.
I read books on geology, gemnology and crystals from a metaphysical point of view. My favourite book is Micheal Gienger 's Crystal Power Crystal Healing which I think is the best book on the subject: he knows about the real qualities of crystals as opposed to what he imagines/feels they are, as I believe if in one book such crystal made the writer feel this way, it may well do the opposite for you. but in Gienger's book there s the crystal lattice/inner structure and minerals explained and how they affect body and mind plus some history of the beliefs associated with them. I love that book and wish I could do a course with the man!
Im trained in reiki and use crystals already....Im just wondering wheter I will spend the money this year on the course, thats all.
The ACNH also does courses in France!
The course in Huntly is very expensive by the looks of things, and training is done on a monthly basis - could you afford the additional travel/accommodation charges? Nearest airport would be Aberdeen. Have you tried contacting students who have trained there, for their opinion on the course?
hello Jabba, long time no seen!
how is my Pictish therapist doing?
well after a loong thinking, feeling, deciding then having obstacles, Im finally moving to Ed!! be prepared to see the mad French woman walk the street, Jabba.
I may come to you as a client, I love receiving therapies, not just professional curiosity..when Im fully settled in Jotuheim...err I mean Scotland! (if you see the film Thor, then think of me, this is what living in Edinburgh in the winter looked like to me! :speechless-smiley-0 same architecture, ambiance, pitch black afternoons and horizontal snow winds)
yes the course is terribly expensive. PLUS as you rightly pointed out: there s the traveling and acommodation. And me thinking the snow last winter created a stand still on my UK/Scotland roads and train journeys I definitely dont feel like discovering the real Into The Wild experience of trying to cope and feed myself with roots, in the highlands by sub zero temperatures, even if Im in love with the highlands
Huntly/Rhynie is about 4 hours drive or train journey, it s a huge commitment and it s not like traveling to London where you know there s always going to be frequent transport, as it s a capital city...
A part of me thinks it s maddness to offer a professional 2 years (expensive) course in such a remote place; I almost didnt find the village on google map!
Ed uni offers a short course in gemnology, I might just do this. contacting the ex students? yes great idea! you mean asking the teacher for students contacts? O I think Im too shy to do this...sorry.
Maychang, I read a slight hurt in your reply. I hope I didnt undermine the profession of crystal healers by asking what do you get from a course in CH. I wasn't casting doubt on you therapists!
Im like many people very drawn to crystals. It s more a passion to me than a way to make a living, even if trying to become a (good) therapist is noble in itself.
as crystals are a passion more than a fascinating read and study/training (= as nutrition, reflexology and chinese medicine are for me), Im wondering whether "training" is the right path. It s really hard to explain, but 50% of me cant wait to go on a course and learn everything about working with crystals, and 50% of me wants my relationship with crystals to stay an intimate thing...sorry to be complicated!
O Jabba, I wont be staying in France long enough to do any course. wish I had known though.
xxx
no worries, and no wasn't hurt just passionate.
I have a few of Michael's books, I think they've been translated as they seem a bit flat and find them not my cup of tea.....just me probably.

This course is very nice and Kathleen is a lovely woman, however I have not been to the course myself. I have heard of Planet Sparkle being fabulous too. She is the sweetest woman. I know many who did their training with her and are now life long friends.:)
I also know of a few shops which will be doing courses I think has one on now.
Hope this helps!
Love and light

I have never heard a bad word about her. I am tempted to do her course just to spend time with her!
We have a shop and wholesale business in Scotland and meet a lot of therapists, and she is a very gentle and honest spirit. There are many crystal healers in scotland actually, quite a few up north. I know a great therapist called Jules has just opened a crystal shop in Ellon Aberdeenshire, and there are courses i believe starting there.
Hope this helps, I love crystals! hehe :p
