I have just complete a Calbrook Calgel Nail Course and i wondered if anyone can give me a rough idea of how long it takes to get up to scratch?

I am pretty good at the overlay and i dont mind doing gel sculptures too much and my white lines are getting better but i am struggling with tips - i often size them a bit wrong and have no end of bubbles and my blending needs some help. I have practiced about 5 full sets of tips and i can see there is a marked improvement in the quality but my speed is still slow, around 2.5 to 3hrs. I have not taken the exam yet as i am waiting until i am ready. I do work in a salon and i am being putunder quite a lot of pressure to be performing after 2 weeks is that normal?????

Thanks for any advice.

RE: Gel Nails

hiya 🙂

I think to become an extremely competent technician can take up to about 100 sets and the only way you are going to get your speed up is to practice - offer your friends and family cut price (i know it's hard to charge friends, but remember you have to cover your costs 🙂 even if you only take £5, that should cover your products and equipment) setsto get in the practice you need. Keep going the way you are and I'm sure you'll be a great tech in no time at all 🙂
