Hi, to follow up on my recent post about whether Acupuncture can play a role in relieving constant migraine headache: Thanks so much for the helpful and encouraging replies; I've passed them on to my daughter. Could I now ask whether anyone knows or can recommend a good Acupuncturist in the Luton, Bedfordshire, area OR... in Harpenden,Hertfordshire?

Many Thanks.

Acupuncture Practitioner in the Hertfordshire Area

Dear AT

I used to practice in Herts myself, around 10 years ago now. I would recommend Sandra King in High Wycombe,

The best of luck; she really knows what she's doing!

Hi Esais, many thanks for posting your recommendation of an Acupuncturist in High Wycombe. Unfortunately, I think it may be just a little too far out for my daughter to travel - esp as it would probably have to be in an evening after work. But its good to know that you think highly of this lady.

migraine

it is useful for migraine and I believe it has been been recently approved for this indication by NICE. However, if you have had the condition for a long time, it will take a number of treatments to provide significant benefit (I don't mean you will feel no change after each treatment, I mean it will take time for those results to accumulate into something more dramatic). I don't know anyone specific in your area, but what I recommend is to go through the yellow pages website and find out if they provide a free consultation. Many do. Then go and chat to them, and see how you feel about them.

Most therapists will provide a free consultation. But a lot won't register with yellow pages. This website provides lists of who does what in different areas, or try a simple google search.
