RE: Sun noise
When was the last time you heard the roar of the sun through the vacuum of space?

well in fact last week!
of course, only joking....I am not having a scientific argument/debate with you because 1) I am not knowledge enough in the matter 2) that would send me to sleep! I am too much of an intuitive person to want to learn science the hard way!
No, I was just recurgitating parts of a an excellent book I am reading "Complementary therapies in context: the psychology of healing" by helen Grahams. She goes at lentgh to explain the main differences between our perception of the world (originating in a big divide: man-naturefrom the time of Greek philosophers and made worse by Descartes and Newton; I knew about Descartes' tragic contribution to man's quest for supremacy over nature in the subsequent Industrial Revolution and deforestation) and the Eastern's one....She describes the New Physics' findings as quite disturbing as it coincides with old Indian/chinese mysticism. New Physics include Einstein's relativity but more importantly Quantum....
I could type word for word some passages but not tonight and only if you insist! feel very tired....but the book is - in my opinion - amazing.

hence the sun makes a sound, even in space, as well asSaturn's music has been recorded recently and broadcasted on news channels.
Well that depends what has been recorded. Was it actual sound, as in vibrating particles
It's quite so. I have it myself on a CD. Something to do with a guy called Holst? 😉

Quite right, Giles. In order for sound energy to travel through space, it needs a medium to do it otherwise it'd be like screaming underwater - movements yet no sound.
Fadette - Iam intrigued by this book, but I think that the 'new physics' it talks about would need to be explained more fully. Quantum physics is a new branch of physics, which is yet little understood.
Love,
Patsy.

Now Patsy, there's an interesting thing. Sound actually travels a lot better through water than air. That is why whales are able to hear each other half way around the world, so if you're in trouble I'd recommend screaming underwater (just make sure you've got a source of oxygen for the in-breath ;)).
