The Chestnut Centre, Chapel en le Frith

We went there today and it's really nice. Lots of otters & owls in a woodland setting with great views of the hills too.
There are also deer there, but didn't manage to get close to those.

Thank you for posting this Treacle, it's only a 20 minute drive from my house and yet I've never been there!

I'm teaching this weekend but hopefully I'll get there in the next few weeks.

To be honest Bannick, we used to live in Bollington and never got round to going there. Every time we drove past we'd comment that we should go one day! Isn't it always the way, you go far afield to find good things rather than visit what's on your doorstep!

When we lived in Penmaenmawr, Penrhyn Castle was 10 minutes away and we never got round to going there.:p

My immediate thought was 'that's a cuckoo pint'. So I googled the images and it does look similar. Then I had another look and discovered that it's probably western skunk cabbage, otherwise known as a large cuckoo pint. Here's my . What do you think?

Aw, I just read the caption with the link I posted: did you see that bears use that plant as a laxative after hibernation? You couldn't make it up, could you!
