Hi Everyone, I've just posted on the Intruduction Forum about my family of 2 Staffies, 3 Adult Cats and 3 kittens (Maybe I shold have posted here as it's quite long and describes all my family)
Anyway Tessa my 12 yrs old Staffie suffers badly from Osteoarthitis ongoing from she was 3yrs old due to a fall. I have her on a cocktail of herbs etc for the pain. Then about 4mths ago she went blind in her right eye from a Lens Luxaction and is now partially blind in her left eye due to Cataracts and floaters etc. She sees an Opthomoligist (eye vet) every 6weeks to moniter her eye pressure for Glaucoma.
Could anyone advise what help I should seek for her ie: distance healing. The thing is she doesn't seem to be in any pain she goes for short walks, plays tug loves her food etc but I know she's scared because I can feel it. Hope this makes sense. Any help would be appreciated. Also I think she's going deaf as well and I know it's old age but I want to help her to not be scared sometimes the feeling is so strong and I look at her and I just know.

RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hi Deard,
Of course you're making sense, I understand that you know Tessa is scared, they're very good at telling us how they feel aren't they? I'll have a think and look at my books to see if I can offer any suggestions.
In the meantime sending her Reiki to help her feel better and less scared.
Give Tessa a big cuddle from me.
Muriel
RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hi Muriel, Thanks for your reply and "Tessa" sends you her thanks also. I wrote a detailed description of my happy family on the Introduction forum, is there anyway I could get it moved to here or would i have to type it again here?
I hope i wasn't being to forward as asking for help on my first post. regards, Deard and her Happy Clan
RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hi Deard, you can copy and paste the info you want by placing it between the quote brackets (the fifth button from the left when you are compiling a post).
I'm happy to send Reiki to Tessa and see what I can pick up. Have you had a chat with a homeopathic vet? They might be able to give you some treatment plans if you would like to use the natural route. Reiki will help but have you considered something like accupuncture or bowen? They might be options you'd like to explore also 😀
RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hi Deard,
No, you're not being too forward asking for help in your first post. What's important is that Tessa needs help and here is one of the places to find it. A lot of us have been where you are so we understand what you and Tessa are going through. There are a lot of very caring and knowledgeable people here with experience in various fields and I'm sure you'll get loads of very good advice here.
I have to out shortly but now that I'm more awake am getting my thinking cap on and will hopefully get back with some pointers later.
What remedies are you using so far?
Muriel
RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hello Again,
To Doogle: Sorry but I don't know how to copy and paste. Thank you from both of us for your Reiki help. I will enquire about my nearest Homeopathic Vet. What is Bowen? Pardon my ignorance but I've only started using Herbal remedies etc
To Muriel: Its only from Tessa went blind in one eye and is partially blind in the other that this fear started which is perfectly understandable, it is scarey for me as well but I try to not let her know this. She has done so well in the last year from I took her of Metacam for her arthitis and changed her food to Naturediet and put her on different herbs etc. She has lost 3/4 of a stone and is now her correct weight 15.8kilos which also helped her arthitis.
I have to be honest it was not all my doing. Up untill around 2yrs ago Tessa and myself were stagnating on the couch watching day time TV etc and then Charlie my younger Staffie (nearly 2yrs old now) came along unplanned. Charlie woke us all up Cats included, and the rest is history. Charlie is now a 4and 1/2st beautiful Staffie boy and I can't imagine life without him.
I might try Bach flower remedies for her. I know 12yrs is a good age for a Staffie and I know Tessa's getting old. The Eye Specialist vet is monitering her for Glaucoma and so far so good.
Anyway must go as i have a vets app with one of my kittens who i think has Earmites. Never a dull moment in our house. Catch you all later. In Peace, Deirdre and her Happy Clan
RE: Need Help for Tessa
Hi Deard,
Well done for getting the Clan on to a healthy diet/plan!
No problem! To copy and past click on the first letter you want to copy and hold the left button down. Then scroll to the end of the sentance (with the button held down) and right click on the highlighted part. A little drop down box should appear, click on 'Copy'. Decide where you want to place it and then all you need to do it right click again and click on 'Paste'. Hey presto it should be there. Let me know if you have any problems 🙂
I've got the numbers of two vets that cover Essex:
Mr. D. Harper. 1, Comet Way, Eastwoodbury Lane, Southend on Sea, Essex. 01702-526660.
Mr. T. Hoskin. Alma Vet. Hospital, 75,Alma Road, Windsor, Berks. 01753-858891.
Bowen is a form of muscle manipulation that can help to rebalance the body, I've seen it work wonders on horses. Shiatsu (an Oriental accupressure technique) is also getting some great results.
xx
