Sylvia Browne suggests in her book "The Other Side and Back" that "the whole reason we leave The Other Side to come here from time to time is to learn, and to experience and overcome negativity. So not only do we not choose easy life themes for ourselves, but many times we choose a primary theme and a secondary theme that conflict with each other, to really challenge ourselves." 😀
She then lists 44 life themes with brief descriptions. If anyone wishes for me to post a chosen one, please feel free to just ask. 😉
Activator, Aesthetic Pursuits, Analyser, Banner Carrier, Builder, Catalyst, Cause Fighter, Controller, Emotionality, Experiencer, Fallibility, Follower, Harmony, Healer, Humanitarian, Infallibility, Intellectuality, Irritant, Justice, Lawfulness, Leader, Loner, Loser, Manipulator, Passivity, Patience, Pawn, Peacemaker, Performance, Persecution, Persecutor [:@] Poverty, Psychic, Rejection, Rescuer, Responsibility, Spirituality, Survival, Temperance, Tolerance, Victim, Victimizer [:'(] Warrior, Winner.
I like to think of myself as an aspiring humanitarian and healer ... but if they usually conflict in order to benefit from a challenge, I guess I've got at least one wrong [>:] If anyone can help me out - please do 😉
Love and light,
@nnie:)
I realised that I hadn't read this thread properly... but now I have and to my surprise I chose "experiencer". I wasn't sure that this was the "correct" answer in that I should have chosen "spirituality" or one of the others, but then when I read this reply by Vortex I knew that it is just right for me.
Well I am here to be me and just experience
what ever is presented to me in the moment
For there is nothing for me to learn for this is happens in me being human and why should I load on the self created judgments “should and could ext”
I can be any thing that I want to experience being
A grate lover father and friend
Have a awesome time in any thing you decide to experience beingLove brent:D
So, whatever I experience is alright.... and how I feel is alright too, for my experience and feelings is part of it too.
So, our experience is part of being here.
Brent.... I send hugs and thanks....I hope you are okay.
I send Love for you and thanks for the being of you.
As so often in life, actions speak louder than words. Love is as love does....
Speaking of, or sending, 'love' is all-too-easy and often without real meaning - 'love' often means 'fondness', kind wishes....
Returning to the thread topic, I would wager that there are few, if any, of us who actually know which life theme they chose - why do you believe that you should know?
A broader understanding of death and life may lead one to understand more of the nature of one's identity, of one's being. Not individual, personal details but simply an understanding of the manner in which our experiences as individuated spirit come about.
Within our soul we will know what we chose but such detail is obscured by the heavy, physical matter of our being - memory is a biochemical process relating to our current life.
We may be able to access the details if we can release ourselves transiently from the physical, but as we return, there is no certainty we bring back with us accurate remembrance of what we learned there....

Hi mac,

Speaking of, or sending, 'love' is all-too-easy and often without real meaning - 'love' often means 'fondness', kind wishes....
I understand this is true for you. And I get your point.
But, there are millions who believe in the ‘energy’ of love and that they can send that to another through the good intention of thought or the word, written or spoken.
Does the word Love have to have a definite meaning; is 'fondness' and 'kind wishes' not a form of Love, if it is intended that way? So is speaking or writing or thinking of Love more about the individual and how they intend it for the recipient?
RxXx
P.S. I liked your post, gave food for thought, thanks.:)

We may accept any amount of Love, regardless of how easy or difficult it may have been to "send" it or even in what quantity it was given. We may even accept Love when that was not what was intended by the other person.
It truly isn't about the other person but about each of us and our willingness to open ourself to receiving Love unconditionally.
Within our soul we will know what we chose but such detail is obscured by the heavy, physical matter of our being mac

Hi mac. Gosh it has been a while! It's really good to hear from you again.
On those words above, I cannot prove this, as spiritual understandngs are often so difficult to prove, but I believe that we all have an understanding deep in our hearts of what we are here to do. If you "tune in" to your heart, does not one realise that there are really important things they are here to do in this life? It might be anything from making a family work well to writing a great book.
On the other hand, also do we not tune into, "Oh, that character-trait has to be gone from me. I must dissolve it from my life."
So on both the positive and so-called negative (character-healing and improvement) sides of things, I do believe we know the purposes (multiple) of this life.
There is a purpose to each life. It's just hard at times to discover what it is, or to face up to it.

Thanks for the welcome back, V - I'm usually not far away from HP even if I'm not contributing:)
You seem to agree with some of my thoughts. You noticed, I expect, that I spoke in terms of knowing not believing 😉 while we're 'in the body'
Belief can be very misleading....
quote "But, there are millions who believe in the ‘energy’ of love and that they can send that to another through the good intention of ..........."
quote: "We may accept any amount of Love, regardless of how easy or difficult it may have been to "send" it or even in what quantity it was given."
The first paragraph discusses the giving (sending) of love, the response speaks about receiving (acceptance) it.
Is there an element of inconsistency there?

I see what you are saying, but, because it is the views of two different people it isn't inconsistency, it is the joy of being individual. And it is the opportunity of sharing our personal ethos that affords us a wider viewpoint, if we are so inclined.

No, Keith, I don’t find any inconsistency.
You mentioned how “easy” it was to simply send Love, and sounded somewhat disparaging. My point is that the simplicity of sending has no relationship to what the receiver can accept. The hard part is always the acceptance.
Love is not like a bank account where I write a check for a certain amount and that’s the measure you can receive.
When it comes to Love, there is no limit to the account from which it arises. I can “send” you fondness, but you can receive Love in far greater intensity, if that is what you want. You can also reject any fondness or Love or any quantity in between.
Love exists apart from our creation of it. It just is. It is our privilege to share it in any amount, in any situation, with anyone who is willing to share it with us.
Love is limited only by lack of expression. :043:

Hi Cirrus, I wrote this after reading your wonderful words......hugs and thank you for your sharing.
The sharing of another…. is a special gift…
If someone gives us a gift we don’t smash it down in front of them do we?
So, why do we so often disparage and discourage the words of others?
Why do we sit and think of ways of pulling each other apart and seeing if we can unravel them so that they no longer knit together but lie in a heap on the floor?
Why do we think that the oh so beautiful threads of another may be so so wrong and they got it wrong and that they are stupid for having the experience of who they are?
Why do we seek out and search for those who may think the same as ourselves?
What about this wider viewpoint Cirrus has shared about?
Why do we so often take a stance, decide that is right and then search for ways to provide more and more evidence for our own rightness?
What if we are all right anyway?
And, my God, what if we alright anyway?
Simply… what if oh so many things?
For this here is our life experience this time
For this here is our opportunity to discover something new…
How can there be the discovery of something new if we try to operate from a fixed and already decided viewpoint?
Cirrus, thank you for your sharing……
It is simply the words…
“the joy of being individual”
that touched me so so much.
It resonated within me that I am an experiencer.
I know that for me it is about experiencing.
Therefore, all that I experience, good and bad is part of being here, but in that very experience, I have a choice of whether to take the learning and move on, I have a choice whether to embrace all that is good and leave the rest behind, I do have a choice whether to send and receive Love unconditionally.
May we all know the joy of sharing who we truly are.
For in the listening is the joy of hearing the rhythm of you. :043:
Hi Flit,
I wanted to acknowledge what a wonder the act of sharing can be.
Your words, in response to mine, in turn hit a very powerful note of inner truth for me at this particular time in my life. Such wise words, just what I needed to read.
So Flit, thank YOU for sharing.

After repeated consideration of the words, I do not understand how they relate to the points I made....
Hi Keith,
It's not the first time we cannot connect within the words spoken.
I can't tell if you want further clarification. If so, be more specific in your questioning.
If not, I'll let it go and cherish Cirrus' words:
And it is the opportunity of sharing our personal ethos that affords us a wider viewpoint, if we are so inclined.
"I can't tell if you want further clarification." thanks, but no thanks....
I asked help once before on a subject that really was important to me - this one isn't.

And we talked around and around it, didn't we?
Let it go, Keith. Martyrdom and manipulation are not becoming to you.
Just gone back to the very first post, to see what this thread is meant to be about...
I see some of the life themes are Banner Carriers and Irritants.....
.mmm...intersting!!
Possibly trying to push aside and Healers and Spiritual life themes that may pop their heads over the parapet 😉

Why is it so hard to grasp the notion (fact) that Life is a School and we are here to Teach and learn depending on where we are on our Journey. My life theme's in this life are Spirituality and Loner and I chose those before I ever came here while charting my journey with those who would incarnate with me. Please don't tell others they are wrong in how they believe because all paths lead back to where we came from, Heaven and weather we conquer what we charted to conquer or not, we will eventually go home where we can review our life and determine weather or not we feel we have more to learn or want to return perhaps because we feel we have more to Teach.

Clearly you are, but don't assume that this means everyone is.
