There's one thing that has me puzzled. How does time work in the spiritual world? In the book "Journey of souls" I remember it says: time is now and that time is not linear like on earth. Past, present and future as we know it doesn't seem to exist. Also, souls who are on earth a couple of years as ghosts apparently feels for them like a couple of weeks. Time seem to speed up. There seems to be a difference how time works for ghosts and for souls in the spiritual world. I wonder if it is even possible for us as humans to completely comprehend the concept of time in the spiritual world?

RE: Time in the spiritual world
Hi qosmos,
May I share one of my favorite quotes from Einstein?
"When you sit with a nice girl for two hours, it seems like two minutes. When you sit on a hot stove for two minutes, it seems like two hours that's relativity." -- Albert Einstein
Our concept of linear time is a useful tool for us but is also very limiting. Many scientists are now wondering if this tool is simply a mental crutch we have. Considering the problems we have understanding quantum mechanics and extradimensional space, some scientists are now suggesting time isn't all it's cracked up to be. You might enjoy reading this article [link= http://cdsweb.cern.ch/search.py?recid=622019 ]Time and Classical and Quantum Mechanics [/link]
Not only is time under assult by the scientific community, but our entire understanding of the universe, space time, and physics all begs for new theories that can make sense of the discoveries we are making (for example that less than 1 percent of the universe is made out of matter that we actually see.) It appears possible now that not only time can be the present, past, and future rolled into one, but that there are millions if not billions of other dimensions or universes right beside us (the multiverse theory coming out of superstring theory).
So, it may be true indeed that time is only a mental perception that we use and that in different settings and places our mental perception would be vastly different and there could be no time.
Kind Regards,

Hi qosmos, I found this for you to read it just a exsperience, of a medium and her guide,
they are asking the guide question.
Its called Wisdom of Ramadahn by Ursula Roberts
(Q) I belived in the spirit world there is not time. Why can't you follow our time?
(a)We can follow your time if we have communication with spirits who are still serving very closely with medium or persons such as yourself in the mortal atmospher, for they will learn how to read your time vibrations. You have on your Earth a clock which periodically gives forth sounds like a bell, and some spirits standing close by can measure time by that sounding bell. Then too, earthly time is measured by your festivals, for when we see the myriad thoughts coming from earth's children in glory of preparation we know it is your Christmas season, and when we see you making prayers and joying in the blossoms we know it is Easter, and when we see emanating from you joyous thoughts when people have rememberd you, we know it is the time of anniversary.
But in spirit life we have no need for times of remembering, nor of the passing seasons, so we are happy to live in our timeless world, but if necessary we can become attuned to your earthly time.

RE: Time in the spiritual world
Hi all
As put to me
There is only now and now every split second and that’s all you have and is a way of being
Time to spirit is like all things are happening in the present all past life’s all future lives
Every thing is now it the hardest thing to explain
It would be to me like being truly present

Every thing is happening at once I can not comprehend it
I know that there is more but I cant grasp it
RE: Time in the spiritual world

RE: Time in the spiritual world
Time is something that man has made over time! that is we live by the clock another object that stesses us and keeps us routine. in the spirit world there is no need for time, seasons, dates, hours, minutes, months etc, they are just being simply being and are in a different dimension to ours. we will all see one day for now lets just imagine...

RE: Time in the spiritual world
Dear Tammy,
My spiritual healing tutor taught us years ago that this, or any 'life' is over in the blink of an eye, in terms of eternity or 'time' and you are so right, just simply 'being' is all that is required.
Love to you

RE: Time in the spiritual world
Dear qosmos, maybe i have read too many SF books in my time - but i see it like this. You are in the spiritual realm - decide to incarnate - live your lifespan (say 60 years)- die and are back in the realm and just 10 minutes have elapsed there.....
RE: Time in the spiritual world
Dear Qosmos,
I am so glad I've found yet another fan of "Journey of Souls" (my "bible")
I can say that spiritual reality is a different reality from our human one. It's a different dimention. Therefore the concept of time is different there....Spirits are "above" our human time. We calculate our time according to seasons (a perishing, mortal "clock"), while spirits are immortal, they are above it....

Yes, "Journey of Souls" is a good book. It's the first and so far the only book about the spiritual world I've read. But I've also got alot of info from the web.
Thanks for the replies. I can't emotionally grasp the idea of time being an illusion and that only the present exists. Intellectually maybe, but not emotionally. I guess I'll have to wait till whenever I 'cross over' :).
